Why the absence?

Startup Christ is a bit of a startup of its own. I went a while without posting or maintaining the site and I feel like the readers should know why. First of all, let me inform you that I am a young married college student working full time. So now that we established that I don’t have much free time, I hope you can see why. But that doesn’t explain the whole picture. In truth, if something is important to you, you will find time to do it. You will make it a priority.

I did not make Startup Christ a priority over the last months and here’s why.

  1. I’ve been working on my own business. I am the founder of EcoEats. That venture comes before this which brings me to my second point.
  2. I don’t have an expectation of this venture making money. Activities either become businesses or hobbies. This so far is the ladder. I want to make Startup Christ a legitimate organization and movement that hosts events with speakers and networks the community of Christian entrepreneurs. I have yet to devote the time to formulate a strategy to make this happen. I have instead gone with a “if you build it, they will come” model.
  3. I wasn’t having initial success. This website had abysmal views in the early months. While the views are steadying, it’s still a low number but encouraging.
  4. I was pursuing other writing outlets. Those haven’t paid either and, to be frank, I might start another website for those purposes. I write for NOQ Reportand have become a main writer there. See, I had time to write, but used those talents elsewhere.

Why I am back?

As noted before, I had very little initial success. But I checked up on the website every once in a while. I saw that the numbers were up. And, while it’s admittedly shallow, have decided that my time needs to be devoted here again.  There’s a lot I want to do in the world of Christian entrepreneurship, and I need to take steps to make the future a reality. This site will take a lot of content and consistency to make it big. And now I am more prepared and willing to make it happen.
