There have definitely been more confrontations with police and churches in Canada. The events surrounding James Coates and his church being the most notorious instance of this. Pastor Artur Pawlowski of the Cave of Adullam Church in Alberta, Canada would find himself going viral after driving out police officers that showed up to shut down a worship service.
Rather than give them the time of day, Pawlowski lets them air no words and demands that they exit. He shouts at them, demanding they leave and only return if they have a warrant. Unable to voice their demands, the officers reluctantly exit the church while being called, Nazis and gestapo. He finishes by giving impassioned statement about the nature of tyranny.
Reaction
It’s a simple story and a beautiful one at that. Among people who hate organized religion, a favorite passage of Scripture is when Jesus drives out the money changers from the temple calling them thieves. They appreciate this passage believing that it fuels their antiestablishmentarianism. But contrary to popular belief, Jesus is actually defending organized religion by driving out thieves from the temple.
In similar fashion, Pawlowski is driving out thugs from the church who seek to do harm to worshippers. While he lacks a whip, he insults the offenders with pejorative labels. He could have gone further in his tone, especially towards the Karen who seems to have been leading the officers, under the guise of health and safety.
If all churches had remained steadfast, like this from the beginning, we would not be dealing with this a year later.

I really wish people especially christian people would stop using the name Karen like it’s popular to do now. My wife Karen who was born in1969, her parents choose her name to mean pure one and that she is.
Don’t conform to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, (through God’s word).
