Update: Another round in the hospital

It seems an unfortunate pattern that every time, I provide an update, things get worse right after. The most recent update is in an interview I have last week where I was rather optimistic. But complications emerged right after and it escalated into a hospital trip on Saturday night.

My wife was having another kidney stone attack. It became apparent that this problem does not seem to be a one and done. So, on Sunday, my wife underwent a procedure to put a urinary stent in to drain fluid from her kidney. The routine operation was a success. They were able to drain puss from her kidney and now she’ll have a stent for the foreseeable future. The plan is to be discharged on Monday. The hope is that this prevents any further issues.

Truthfully, I’m a little deflated. I am so conditioned to think something else will pop up, that I’m struggling to recognize the win in this situation.

Thank you all for your prayers, comments, and other encouragements.

Soli Deo Gloria,

Ray

  1. Hard to press the “Like” button when the news is not likable. But thank you for keeping us posted.
You and your dear wife are part of Christ’s body, He is the head and sovereign over EVERYTHING.
When you’re in the fire, it’s His hand on the thermostat.
Will pray for you. May you see Christ revealed in greater measure as you press on.

  2. Maybe an attack of the enemy, or a random chance. Either way you have our prayers.

    Chin up buddy!

  3. I’m offering prayer both of you in what may seem such a daunting situation. May God comfort you both, and give you peace.
