Theologically Sound. Culturally Relevant.

Docent Research Group Karl Marx 2.0

Announcement: Docent Dumps Are Coming!

We know the media is corrupt to the core taking messages from central authorities. But have you ever wondered whether this phenomenon is going on in the church? We do not pay attention to what churches down the street, across the state, or across the nation are preaching and therefore do not notice how the sermons on a given topic sound the same. Ed Litton plagiarizing JD Greear is only a small part of the problem. Outsourcing the work of the pastor is an entire industry. Sermons are streaming from a few corporations flowing down to the pulpits of the local church and we don’t notice it. And what if these corporations writing your church’s sermon didn’t have as high esteem for Scripture or the Gospel as you do?

Spoiler alert. This industry is as corrupt as its premise. The kingpin in this Big Eva industry is Docent Research Group, and Evangelical Dark Web has information exposing the faces behind the industry and the ones feeding it. In the upcoming days, Evangelical Dark Web will expose multiple megachurches that use Docent Research Group, with our source being one of its unwitting researchers.

Dismantling the influence of Docent Research Group and like corporations is a necessary strategy to rescue God’s elect from wolves. Therefore the gloves are off. It’s time to name and shame the pastors and churches being fed by Docent Research Group and the corrupting influence these churches subsequently have.

  1. Question:

Does the preaching UPLIFT the congregation at all? Does it teach the CONGREGATION about God?

Let me ask something to you, to see if you know:

Why did Abraham not have the Law of Moses?

The goal of sermon preaching is to UPLIFT the congregation. And if that goal is achieved, then why are we so worried about Docet Research group?

I could care less if the pastor did not do his research on his own. But as a Berean, YOU are supposed to VERIFY what the preacher said was true, or false. I could care less where he got his preaching from.

Did you know that Sarah was Abraham’s SISTER? Now, you are going to ask me what this has to do with Docent Research Group, I assume, right?

When church’s were being set up by Paul, what BOOKS did Paul give them to preach from? What education did Paul give them? What colleges did Paul set up? Who was the first Dr. that graduated from Paul’s seminary? How much research did these new pastors do in the performance of his duty to preach the gospel? How much did they really know on Sunday? Where did they do their research? Who had knowledge of the Hebrew language?

Was the Law of Moses being taught, or was FAITH being taught?

There is another word from the bible that is defined as UPLIFT.

Do you really think that God cares who’s research went into a sermon, as long as the sermon is TRUE?

The sermon is about God, not the one giving the sermon. But you people are NOT concentrating on God, you are concentrating on the messenger.

Forget the messenger, because the messenger is NOT IMPORTANT.

Why didn’t God set Abraham down and teach him to GET AWAY FROM HAVING SEXUAL CONCOURSE WITH HIS SISTER?

The law of Moses clearly states that sleeping with your sister is WICKED, and evil. God never informed him anything about that, and Abraham was RIGHTEOUS. Oh, and by the way, 1/2 sisters are within the context of this, too.

NOTE: This has nothing to do with POPULATING the planet, either. What it has to do with, is this: NO KNOWLEDGE of the Law of Moses.

My point in my whole comment:

As it always is with the Baptist community, you are being way too LEGALISTIC for my taste. As the song from the 80’s went, “Don’t drink, don’t smoke, WHAT DO YOU DO?” I think in some Baptist culture, you can’t gamble, you can’t dance (Footloose taught us that).

Thank God I’m not a Baptist, let alone Southern Baptist. You people have too many CARNAL problems, that you refuse to get with the SPIRITUAL aspect of things.

I’ll bet you think that my comment here was an unintelligible rant that made no sense, huh? It all boils down to ABRAHAM, who is our father in the faith, NOT MOSES. You are being legalistic here.

    Ed Chapman

    1. Ed,

      Please consider the following:

Is it spiritual discernment or worldly wisdom that would advocate use of a lesser standard than that used by principled pagans when investigating allegations of a professional breach of ethics in the literary, scientific and academic fields?

Regardless of our respective theological viewpoints swapped, we both know that the ‘bottom line’ is whether reduced Church attendance/giving …becomes associated with pastoral negligence of outsourcing sacred responsibilities God charges a Shepherd with: ‘Feeding His flock.’

Whether you or I can justify subcontracting of the pulpit, doesn’t answer if congregants will tolerate their tithes being used to purchase messages from a disinterested third party with no relationship to church members.

‘Study earnestly to present yourself approved to God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.’

‘…It would not be right for us to neglect the Word of God…’

‘For we are not like so many others, hucksters who peddle the Word of God for profit…’

“Now the overseer must be above reproach…respectable… He must also have a good reputation with outsiders…”

If a person is employed by Docent, or is a current customer buying their wares, I’d expect them to vigorously argue to defend their financial livelihood by advocating for Christians to accept ‘creative reinterpretations’ of Jesus’ directive to “Feed my sheep”…to be equally understood as; “I don’t care WHO or HOW or WHAT they get fed, ……just git-r-done”!

If second-hand sermons are what a congregation is being served by their local hireling, I’d strongly suggest they eliminate the ‘middle-man’ …and send their tithes directly to Docent.

      1. Dave,

What you have said is noted. However, what is the JOB of a pastor?

        Jeremiah 3:15
And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

The pastors job is to feed the congregation with KNOWLEDGE and UNDERSTANDING.

Nehemiah chapter 8 is a great source of how to do it…

        Nehemiah 8:1-12

1 And all the people gathered themselves together as one man into the street that was before the water gate; and they spake unto Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses, which the Lord had commanded to Israel.

2 And Ezra the priest brought the law before the congregation both of men and women, and all that could hear with understanding, upon the first day of the seventh month.

3 And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law.

4 And Ezra the scribe stood upon a pulpit of wood, which they had made for the purpose; and beside him stood Mattithiah, and Shema, and Anaiah, and Urijah, and Hilkiah, and Maaseiah, on his right hand; and on his left hand, Pedaiah, and Mishael, and Malchiah, and Hashum, and Hashbadana, Zechariah, and Meshullam.

5 And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people; (for he was above all the people;) and when he opened it, all the people stood up:

6 And Ezra blessed the Lord, the great God. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshipped the Lord with their faces to the ground.

7 Also Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, caused the people to understand the law: and the people stood in their place.

8 So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.

9 And Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the Lord your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law.

10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

11 So the Levites stilled all the people, saying, Hold your peace, for the day is holy; neither be ye grieved.

12 And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared unto them.

In my HUMBLE opinion, which might not be so humble after all, this is a TEAM EFFORT.

        Did you notice this, too:

        Ephesians 4:11
        And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

Seems like in today’s church’s, ONE MAN has the responsibility of several listed here.

I think that is more wrong than someone using someone else’s material.

The end result of Nehemiah 8 was to UPLIFT the congregation, and to give THEM (THE CONGREGATION) knowledge and understanding.

If, at the end of a sermon, the congregation didn’t learn anything, and are confused, not understanding anything at all, THEN HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM.

Also note, that Ephesians 4:11 does not say that he gave some ELDERS? Why is that?

Besides, who made ETHICS RULES here about purchasing a sermon? Did God? Or man?

Is the purchased sermon TRUE, or FALSE? That’s all I want to know.

        Ed Chapman

  2. Was Jesus a legalistic when he said to sin no more? I kind of take his words incredibly serious, but that’s just me. Being a Christian and all.

Yes, we all sin. But that’s not an excuse. Good gravy man! It matters a lot if you act as if someone else’s words are your own, regardless of the message. I learned that by first grade. Especially when the creators of those words have alterior motives.

Awesome job Ray. Awesome. Ruffling some feathers I see!

    1. Was the person to who Jesus spoke to under the law of Moses, or under the law of faith?

Was Abraham under the law of Moses?

Who has determined that using someone elses sermon is a sin? The Baptists? The Baptists consider alcohol a sin, and dancing a sin, and gambling a sin. Some might consider picking your nose a sin. Or scratching your…

Farting is a sin in some places.

Using someone’s sermon…no, it’s not a sin. Preaching God, no matter HOW it’s preached, or by whom, or by what means, is NOT a sin.

Who made it the preacher’s job to put in anacdotes, stories, punch lines, jokes, etc., anyway?

Just read the dog gone book and give understanding, that’s all that matters. Stop making this about the messenger.

Is the words preached true, or false? That’s all that matters. The role of a pastor is to give KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING.

      Philippians 1:15-18
15 It’s true that some preach about Christ because they are jealous. But others preach about Christ to help me in my work.

16 The last group acts out of love. They know I have been put here to be a witness for the good news. 17 But the others preach about Christ only to get ahead. They preach Christ for the wrong reasons. They think they can stir up trouble for me while I am being held by chains.

18 But what does it matter? Here is the important thing. Whether for right or wrong reasons, Christ is being preached about. That makes me very glad. And I will continue to be glad.

      Ed Chapman

  3. Look around the world at all the pain, suffering, and misery that sin causes. We should be trying to reduce sin with all seriousness. But we can go in circles as we’ve been doing for almost 2,000 years about this. I greatly appreciate being forgiven and listen intently to the spirit within me telling what is and to avoid sin. We should doubt our salvation if we sin with such ease!

“Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”

    1 Corinthians 6:9–10 ESV

Again, we can go on all day about this. We’re all part of the same body but with different functions. Sometimes we differ just how to function, too much so quite frankly. I’m guilty of it, but debate lets us hone our beliefs and think more deeply than just searching out echo chambers.

And centralized production of sermons leads to echo chambers.

But hopefully this will all be put to rest quite soon. Lord, come quickly.

HAave a good day chapman, my keyboards’ gjust went completely wacky…

    1. Tom T,

I still don’t see this as a sin. Drinking isn’t a sin, being a drunkard is. Dancing isn’t a sin, but some think it is. Gambling is not a sin, Baptists made that up.

What else did the Baptists make up, some of which came from YE OLE CHURCH FATHERS, such as, divorse/remarriage? That’s not a sin, either.

Yes, we could go on all day. Maybe I should correct myself, in stating “legalism”, when it should be “making something a sin that isn’t a sin at all”?

It is also noteworthy to indicate the word “PRACTICE” next to the word HOMOSEXUALITY in your selection of verses about sin. But some think that just being one is a sin.

I think we need some serious clarification as to what sin really is. For by the law is the knowledge of sin (Romans 3:20). Sin is the transgression of the law (1 John 3:4).

And if both of those two last sentences is correct, why wasn’t Abraham subjected to the law of Moses? Sleeping with sister was a serious sin, is it not? But what did God give brother/sister? An inbred son, did he not? Named him Isaac, if my memory serves me right.

      Ed Chapman

      1. Chapman sounds more and more like a liberal mainline Protestant, or a beta soy megachurch attendee. These are the guys who sing “Jesus be my boyfriend” praise and worship music, lap up egalitarian “Mr Rogers” sermons, and cry and hug each other at their “mens” groups.
As the marxists say “useful idiots”.
I’m glad I’m not walking in your shoes, Fava.

        1. I believe you are correct about Mr. Ed. He seems more and more like a liberal troll.

          1. A “LIBERAL” troll? No, not likely. I’m just not into FUNDY stuff, like you people are. You guys are against things JUST BECAUSE someone on the left is for it, or for things JUST BECAUSE someone on the right is for it. None of it is about your own study of the issue.

What really troubles me about the Baptists, is that they used to be a denomination that was HIGHLY respected by Americans as a whole, when I grew up, anyway.

NOT ANYMORE. Once you tagged the word “EVANGELICAL” to it, and THRUST the three letter, SBC to it, Baptists leave a bad taste in the mouth.

Then ya got the Calvinists mixed in with them, and look at the SOUP that you created.

This has got to be the most HATED group of people in the United States.

Your side HATES Litton…and to me, that just makes NO SENSE, as to why Christians are PUBLICLY beating up other Christians.

But it makes additional no sense as to why this YOUNGSTER of a blogger, who has NO BIBLE KNOWLEDGE at all, thinks that he can critique pastors like this.

I’m out a here, fella’s. I’m done with you FUNDIES for the rest of my life. My advice, STUDY without OTHER PEOPLE TELLING YOU WHAT TO BELIEVE, i.e. Baptist Faith & Message 2000. Or the Westminster whatevers.

For people who preach Sola Scriptora a lot, and all those ALONE words, you people never follow that advice if ya gotta AGREE without knowing why the BFM 2000, EVEN IF YOU DISAGREE, ya still gotta agree. Makes no sense.

You guys are all at war with yourselves. If ya get a chance, check out YouTube, Paul Harvey, “If I were the Devil”. He mentions church’s at war with themselves in that. It was recorded in 1965. I was ONE YEARS OLD.

            Ed Chapman

  4. When Litton supporters start showing up, you know you’re getting under their skin. Keep up the good work and exposing the false shepherds!! Thank you!

Also, really enjoying your BRC series. Would love if you keep on them. The grifters (in and out of the church) need to be exposed.

  5. Ed,

Your response: “What you have said is noted.”
Okayyy …I see how much thought you gave my remarks.

It now appears evident to me, that you belong to one of the ‘quasi-christian’ groups that is in fierce competition in the ‘race to the bottom’ of traditional Protestant standards.

Sooo, it sounds like your emergent church clan meets at a tattoo parlor or night club, led by a bi-vocational lesbian porn star…correct?
