Devon Franklin, a faith based filmmaker best known for making the heretical “Heaven Is For Real” into a movie announced on Instagram he was filing for divorce from his wife, Meagan Good, an actress. This would be yet another “Christian” celebrity couple to announce a divorce. Though in this instance the reason is unclear. The couple stated in an Instagram post:
After much prayer and consideration we have decided to go into our futures separately but forever connected.
We celebrate almost a decade of marriage together and a love that is eternal.
There’s no one at fault, we believe this is the next best chapter in the evolution of our love.
We are incredibly grateful for the life-changing years we’ve spent together as husband and wife.
We are also extremely thankful to God for the testimony being created inside us both and for blessing our lives with each other.
The post has nearly a hundred and fifty thousands likes. Devon Franklin argues that this divorce is an act of love for his wife, a notion that contradicts God’s hatred of divorce found in Scripture.
It’s unclear whether this will impact Devon Franklin’s role in his upcoming movie, Relationship Goals, based on Michael Todd‘s book with the same name. The book is subtitled, “How to win at relationships” which Devon Franklin evidently is not doing in his marriage. This would be like the one of the Kendrick Brothers getting a divorce during the making of the Fireproof movie. given that Relationship Goals the movie looks like it will be an imitation of Think Like A Man, a romantic comedy based on Steve Harvey’s book, a significant personnel change is unlikely.
