Russia Captures Europe’s Largest Nuclear Power Plant

A major development in the Ukraine-Russia War is that Russian forces captured the largest nuclear power plant in Europe and avoided created the next Chernobyl in the process. The risky attack on the plant resulted in a fire that raised international concerns about the potential for a major meltdown. However, firefighters were allowed on the scene and no essential equipment was damaged in the fight.

The Russian victory was confirmed when Ukraine’s nuclear inspector noted that Russian forces occupied the plant, keeping with the pattern of the Russians not publicizing their progress. Capturing this plant is one of the most significant gains in the past week for the Russian forces.
