“Yaasss Queen!” proclaimed the Evangelical Covenant Church as they elected their first female denominational president. The 136th Annual Meeting in Kansas City, Missouri voted 20-1 to elect Tammy Swanson-Draheim to lead the ECC.
Catherine Gilliard who announced Tammy Swanson-Draheim to the audience stated, “You are a leader, a trailblazer, and a pastor to pastors who is called and gifted by God to serve as president. The stained-glass ceiling is broken! You will inspire young girls who will see your leadership and assume it is normative.” The stained-glass ceiling line sounded as though a character from the movie White Chicks said it.
Swanson-Draheim went onto unironically say that (as a female pastor) her values are to be rooted in Scripture. The audience cheered the historic moment.
The Evangelical Covenant Church is the denomination of Craig Groeschel and woke professor, Soong-Chan Rah. The denomination is a case study of how adopting egalitarianism leads to the embrace of further doctrinal error. The Evangelical Covenant Church embraced Critical Race Theory in 2009 and in recent years embraced side b theology and promoted Revoice. Their annual meeting was likewise a feminist rally.
