Baptist News Global Has Gay Writer Who Wants Christians To Fund Gay Sex Drugs

There is no shortage of compromised news gathering ministries in Christianity. One of the larger ones is Baptist News Global. Baptist News Global was the same publication willing to publish context free excerpts and characterizations of Jennifer Buck’s rough draft of an essay, the impetus for the Karengate Scandal in the Southern Baptist Convention. Evidently, the Baptist News Global has no scruples about hiring homosexual writers. Brandon Robertson is a homosexual, self-proclaimed public theologian with pronouns in his bio and he’s here to tell you that Christians love their neighbor by funding gay sex drugs.

In a column titled, ‘If you don’t want to protect LGBTQ people from becoming HIV positive through a truly miraculous medication, you don’t love your neighbor’, Brandon Robertson tells us how he really feels. The underlying premise of this article betrays that AIDS is a homosexual disease.

He begins by citing that a Texas judge ruled that Christian businesses did not have to fund drugs that prevent homosexuals from contracting HIV.

More simply put, the judge suggested that by requiring companies to pay insurance companies who in turn provide PrEP to LGBTQ individuals, they are being forced to “enable and encourage” homosexual behavior.

PrEP reduces the risk of contracting HIV by 99% when taken as recommended, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The CDC also reports that 1 in 5 new cases are in women, not men.

As a Christian pastor and a gay man who has been on PrEP for five years, I can’t help but feel enraged by this ridiculous case and ruling. This ruling, first and foremost, is illogical. It opens the door for employers and insurance companies to refuse to provide treatment to anyone who lives in a way that the company disagrees with on religious grounds.

Birth control is theoretically 99% effective with ideal use, but perfect use is hard to come by. Nevertheless, Robertson reveals that he is into promiscuous sex by stating he has been taking this drug for five years, and therefore his claim that this ruling is illogical is emotionally based. It is entirely logical, the idea that funding PrEP enables buttsex. He’s has already betrayed this fact with his own life story.

This ruling is fundamentally un-Christian. Even the most irreligious in our society know that Jesus’ most central command was to love our neighbors as ourselves — even the ones we disagree with. If as a Christian you don’t want to help protect LGBTQ people from becoming HIV positive through a truly miraculous medication, then you don’t love your neighbor. In fact, I’d suggest that you’re displaying hatred toward your neighbor by actively working to harm them.

The remainder of the article goes full Joe Biden, channeling his rage against MAGA Republicans. It was quite stunning and brave for Baptist News Global to publish this nonsense. If I believe loving my neighbor as myself means not enabling them to sin more, then I am in obedience to God’s commandment. In Scripture we learn in Leviticus 19, the chapter after homosexuality is called an abomination and the chapter prior to it being a capital offense, that loving your neighbor is juxtaposed with seeking personal revenge. The context of this command is not mitigating the consequences of sin.

But since Brandon Robertson does not believe homosexuality and abortion are sins, it’s no shock he has no fundamental understanding of loving your neighbor. However, Baptist News Global should know better.
