Is Netflix Going To Make Chronicles of Narnia Woke?

With the recent fallout from the horrendous Amazon Prime Lord of the Rings series, The Rings of Power, the thematically not far off Chronicles of Narnia adaptations may be the next franchise to be destroyed by Hollywood’s liberal agenda and incompetence. Netflix is not known for longevity of series quality. Many of their shows have some sort of “third date rule” whereby the third episode or season of a show will offload a bunch of homosexual propaganda.

Henry Cavill recently departed from the fantasy adaptation of The Witcher getting off the sinking ship that had long departed from its source material. This Netflix production is already a sign that Netflix is unfit for a fantasy adaption of this scope.

In 2018, Netflix announced that they were going to do a remake of the Chronicles of Narnia series in partnership with the CS Lewis estate. Little movement has been done since, but now it appears Netflix is moving towards a feminist director, Greta Gerwig. Gerwig is the type of director that wants to use the upcoming Barbie movie to subvert viewer’s expectations. The idea of subverting expectations is a thrown around saying in Hollywood, and while it’s a real thing in storytelling, often what they mean by subverting expectations is wasting the viewer’s time, like Rian Johnson’s The Last Jedi which featured numerous plotlines that end with a “twist” that changes nothing about the rest of the movie.

The Chronicles of Narnia is not a series known for intersectional feminism, queer theory, or subverting reader expectations.
