The Annual Southern Baptist Convention of 2023 is already shaping up to be a showdown over women pastors, but the Pastor’s Wives/Women’s Conference has raised the question of whether the SBC tolerates Side B theology. Side B theology teaches that homosexual attractions are not sin in and of themselves, which is an unbiblical teaching on the nature of sin. This, therefore, creates further unbiblical teachings on repentance and sanctification. Jared Moore raised awareness that the SBC booked Rachel Gilson for this conference.
I see that Rachel Gilson is speaking at the Pastor’s wives/women’s conference at the #SBC2023. But Gilson’s doctrine of sin, repentance, and sanctification are unbiblical. She is extremely unbiblical on same-sex attraction. Here’s what she teaches…1/7 @RachelGilson pic.twitter.com/GPn6UlUqLG

Rachel Gilson is a known false teacher, for her work spreading the Social Justice Gospel at Cru. Nevertheless, this work earned her the opportunity to be a part of The Gospel Coalition’s Keller Center.
Yet her views on what new believers should do if they are in a homosexual “marriage” are grossly unbiblical and overcomplicated. This is what the majority of discernment bloggers focused on.
However, equally as bad is her view on the transgenderism issue. We previously reported how she placates preferred pronouns and categorizes a sin issue as a Christian liberty issue.
The Southern Baptist Convention has received a lot of backlash for this speaker, reminiscent of the (cancelled) SBC2020 Pastors Conference that invited a female pastor to perform.
