William Wolfe is one of the current thought leaders on the issue of Christian Nationalism. Before that he worked in politics both as a staffer for multiple House Representatives and a State Department staffer in the Trump Administration. After leaving the State department where he served as a political appointee, Wolfe turned towards a career in writing and public ministry.
Wolfe describes how he hates seeing Evangelical represented by people like Russell Moore who claim to represent Evangelicals but advocate for Democrat politicians. Being something of a political activist myself, we share a common interest equipping the church to take to the public square, whereas current Evangelical leaders have shown incompetency.
And so when Christian Nationalism arose as a popular term, we both saw it as a cool label that describes our political beliefs.
Thus when he posted on Twitter that he was supporting Trump in the 2024 primary, we invited him on to discuss and debate that point. Wolfe puts up a rather good case for Trump and we invite you to listen to the whole thing.
Ultimately the race is still early, and we’re not quite sure what version of Trump we will see in 2024.
