The 2023 Annual Southern Baptist Convention is underway and the first major vote was for the president of the Southern Baptist Convention. The race between incumbent Bart Barber and challenger Mike Stone remained just that as no previously unannounced nominations would be made. The result of the direct face off between Bart Barber and Mike Stone would be a complete route.
Bart Barber received a resounding 68.38% of the vote amounting to 7531 votes, while Mike Stone only received 3458 votes or 31.40%.
This was a major loss for the Conservative Baptist Network that has had increasingly worse results in the last three conventions.
