G3’s Scott Aniol Goes Full Reddit Attacking Christendom

Being an edgy atheist may get you some clout on Reddit but outside of that liberal cesspool, the Reddit-tier arguments fall flat in the face of facts. G3 Ministries has been on a race to lose credibility this year with their opposition to Christian Nationalism and their willingness to embrace liberal ideas and tactics to this end. On Monday, Scott Aniol of G3 Ministries took aim at Christendom.

He concluded the opening salvo that proclaiming that Christendom is no better than secularism.

This argument is bad for several reasons, the most apparent reason being the highly dubious numbers Scott Aniol has conjured. Additionally, molested children seems to be a reference to the Roman Catholic Church, and indeed much of what he cites afterwards are polemics against Papists.

But even if the 70 million is accurate, secularism killed many more than that in the 20th century alone. But where did Aniol conjure this reddit tier argument? He cites anti-Romanist polemics that adopt liberal talking points on colonialism.

“From the birth of Popery in 606 to the present time, it is estimated by careful and credible historians, that more than fifty millions of the human family, have been slaughtered for the crime of heresy by popish persecutors, an average of more than forty thousand religious murders for every year of the existence of popery.” Dowling, History of Romanism, 1871

“Need I speak to you of the thirty years‘ war in Germany, which was mainly instigated by the Jesuits, in order to deprive the Protestants of the right of free religious worship, secured to them by the treaty of Augsburg? Or of the Irish rebellion, of the inhuman butchery of about fifteen millions of Indians in South America, Mexico and Cuba, by the Spanish papists? In short, it is calculated by authentic historians, that papal Rome has shed the blood of sixty-eight millions of the human race in order to establish her unfounded claims to religious dominion.” Schmucker, The Glorious Revolution, 1838

Millions in these calculations cited the downfall of Native American groups. Yet these groups would suffer from diseases that they had zero immunity to, not systemic genocide of millions in concertation camps as the the imagery of these men suggests the Papists did. Why are we pretending that conquistadors were the bad guys in their war with the Aztec? All this to own Rome and Christian Nationalists? Moreover the Spanish Inquisition is a vastly overblown phenomenon in terms of casualties. And only the first third of the 30 Years War is a religious war, if he’s counting those numbers.

Scott Aniol would delete the initial tweet after massive ratio but maintain the points in subsequent posts. The week is early and G3 is not sending their best. Scott Aniol went full redditard. Never go full redditard.
