A fascinating observation over the last few years is how the exposure of Martin Luther King Jr. as both not a genuine Christian nor a real believer in what is commonly attributed. Many argue that he would’ve been a Republican despite his closest followers being Marxist Democrats. Nonetheless, the Christian Post attempted to hype MLK as a Christian hero. The article “Dr. King’s legacy of courage still beckons Christians to stand” is an appeal to the most popular side of MLK. Yet if we were to judge MLK by the content of his character and not the color of his skin, he would not have a holiday named in his honor.
So many Christians today are dying inside and don’t even know it. It’s my prayer that, as we move into what will likely be a contentious year for our country, believers will find the courage Dr. King found, in the faith he held fast to … and learn to live out God’s truth and justice once again.
This article comes at an interesting time when much of Conservcative Inc. is taking shots at MLK’s legacy including Jason Whitlock and Charlie Kirk. But since the Christian Post is very neocon, their capitulation here is unsurprising.
