Amazon Unveils Animated Show Where Demons Are Good, Heaven Bad

Amazon Prime is on one hand a platform where Christian content can succeed, yet on the other they produce degenerate content like The Rings of Power. Amazon just premiered an adult animated series called Hazbin Hotel which showcases the demons of hell as sympathetic figures who are the sympathetic underdogs in their fight with the rigid Heavenly forces.

The main character is the daughter of Lilith, a fictional figure said to be Adam’s first wife, with Satan as the father.

Analysis

It seems easy to dismiss this show; however, it could actually land with an audience, and here’s why. The animation is comparatively better than many of its competitors, ie Star Trek: Lower Decks, although not even close to Invincible Man which is on Amazon. The passable animation is also nostalgic. The opening scene showcased by Amazon is reminiscent of My Little Pony. Most importantly, it’s a musical.

Hollywood has not been sending their best lately, but this is better than what Disney is producing, so it might be a commercial success. Or it could end up like Sarah Silverman and Seth Rogan’s anti-Christmas series that bombed in 2022.

  1. Supernatural did the same. Demons were good, likeable, sympathetic. Angels were bad, not to be trusted. I’m sure they took it further but I quit watching after that season.
