Big Eva Rallies For Open Borders Senate Bill

Last month, the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention announced its legislative priorities for 2024. Their legislative priorities for 2024 included amnesty for illegal aliens and gun control legislation. The ERLC is the political lobbying arm of Southern Baptists; however, it has long been a tool for liberal activism. While the political right is panning the “border security” deal reached by Senator Jeremy Lankford out of Oklahoma, Big Eva is taking a liking to it.

The bill in question was set to codify the entry of 1.8 million illegal aliens per year and set back the ability of states and subsequent administrations to secure the border. It was a clear win for the Democrats. Yet to make matters worse the bill also was proposed with $60 billion for Ukraine, thrice the amount proposed to secure America’s border. Israel and Taiwan were also set to receive money in the bill.

The bill was so unpopular that both House Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell announced the bill was dead on arrival, and neither of these men could be described as America first.

So in the ashes of these developments, Big Eva is sticking their necks out to resurrect this bill. Hannah Daniel is the Director of Public Policy at the ERLC. She wrote a glowing explainer of the bill stating:

Setting aside the uncertain path forward for the proposal, we are thankful for the hard work of Senator Lankford, a Southern Baptist, as well as Sens. Murphy and Sinema. Finding bipartisan consensus on an issue as fraught as immigration is no easy task, and initial responses prove as much. These Senators have put forth a serious proposal for an urgent problem. As our nation grapples with many challenging matters, including this one, we need more lawmakers willing to do the difficult work of legislating.

In a similar fashion, Daniel Darling Director of the Land Center, which is named after the liberal-leaning former ERLC director, Richard Land, complemented the character of Jeremy Lankford.

Brent Leatherwood, head of the ERLC, similarly praised Jeremy Lankford’s efforts to codify the invasion in to law. With Southern Baptists like Darling and Lankford, who needs pagans?
