Christian YouTuber Fixes He Gets Us Commercial

The He Gets Us campaign has been controversial from its very inception and for good reasons. The woke vapid presentations of Jesus generally fail to resonate. One Christian YouTuber decided to fix the minute long commercial from the Super Bowl to make it compelling. His name is Jamie Bambrick, and his channel has just exceeded 6k subs on YouTube as a result of going viral with this parody.

The video references the testimonies of Kat Von D, Josh Timonen, Mohamad Faridi, Mike Burden, Jeff Durbin, Sebastian Stakset, Kevin Whitt, Dr John Bruchalski, Laura Perry, Brittni De La Mora, Steven Bancarz, and Rosaria Butterfield. These individuals represent a wide variance of personal testimonies where Jesus saved them. The ad ends with a reference to 1 Corinthians 6:11 “Such were some of you.”

As we reported last year, the people making the commercials are not even professing believers.

LERMA is the ad agency behind the vapid commercials. Based out of Dallas, LERMA is known for its campaigns for He Gets Us, Avocados from Mexico, and Salvation Army. They also created a commercial for The Chosen. Politically, they are leftwing, which is unsurprising given their industry, supporting anti-gun initiatives, homosexual pride, and general celebration of diversity. Much of the criticisms that have been lodged against the SBC using Guidepost Solutions, a pagan firm, to investigate a Christian organization can be equally applied to He Gets Us relying upon a pagan ad agency to market Jesus. Why not use Christian creatives—but that is the point.

Jamie Bambrick shows how it’s not hard to make a compelling advertisement for Jesus. It’s just that He Gets US is intentionally bad at this.

  1. If using a non-Christian agency to make the original is such a sticking point, why did he stay with the same song which is neither written nor performed by people with known connections to Christianity?
