The race for the president of the Southern Baptist Convention is on as Bart Barber is term-limited. So far Clint Pressley and Mike Keahbone have entered the race, both vying for the liberal bloc of the Southern Baptist Convention. Jared Moore, the author of The Lust of the Flesh, is now joining the race.
Jared Moore’s candidacy was announced on a space hosted by Credo Alliance on Twitter/X. Credo Alliance is a group that Moore is a part of and they are fielding a candidate for the first time, instead of waiting for the Conservative Baptist Network to field a candidate.
Moore has a staunch record of orthodoxy, being one of the leading voices opposed to Side B Theology. His campaign is focused on supporting the Mike Law Amendment. Jared Moore noted that as president he would appoint trustees to the Ethics and Religious Commission who would fire Brent Leatherwood who he described as more liberal than Russell Moore.
The orthodox Baptists have their first candidate worth considering in the race, and he’s the most based candidate in years.
