SBC Takes Money From Soros Backed Org To Advance Evangelical Support For Amnesty

Lifeway Research is the public research arm of the Southern Baptist Convention and the recent report that they published was meant to showcase Evangelical support for amnesty for illegal immigrants. This research was sponsored by dark money from the Evangelical Immigration Table, a fact proudly displayed by Lifeway.

The Evangelical Immigration Table is a project of the National Immigration Forum. The National Immigration Forum was in its inception one of many organizations funded through grants from the Open Societies Foundations. The Soros connection to the Evangelical Immigration Table is is evident, although incorrect, and has been a well-documented reality for more than a decade. Back in 2013, it was widely acknowledged by both the conservative Breitbart and the liberal Juicy Ecumenism.

Yet the partnership between the Evangelical Immigration Table and the Southern Baptist Convention, in particular, remains unhindered by this revelation.

However, the EIT is not the only open borders non-profit sponsoring this study. World Relief is another organization that is sponsored the study.

World Relief is a nonprofit that receives government aid for housing “refugees” and “asylum seekers.” These are terms often applied by liberals to illegal immigrants or third-world escapees.

The National Association of Evangelicals is an extremely liberal organization, helmed by Walter Kim but has had ongoing promotion of liberal activists like Justin Giboney of the And Campaign. In addition to promoting Critical Race Theory, over the years the NAE has also promoted open borders and a climate agenda. Walter Kim even pushed for churches to partner with the government to be Covid jab sites.

Two more excessively woke organizations funding the study are the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, and the Council for Christian Colleges &
Universities.

Lifeway would also take money from Bethany Christian Services, despite their willingness to put children in the homes of homosexual guardians and the National Latino Evangelical Coalition.

The study’s findings showcase Evangelical support for amnesty, as indicated by the funding. Yet very little of the broader public is taken into account, where data consistently shows that White Evangelicals are less likely to support amnesty than the broader public. Non-Evangelicals, by identity or belief, are not included in the study thus not providing this baseline for comparison. This study is propaganda and has little use otherwise.
