Donald Trump Hosts Gay Wedding At Mar-a-Lago

The battle between Christless conservatism and a more Christian Nationalist posture has been going on for some time. Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee for President in 2024 took a bold stand for Christless conservatism by hosting a gay wedding at Mar-A-Lago where he was reportedly in attendance.

According to Breitbart:

The National Log Cabin Republicans, a pro-gay rights group, had hosted two galas at Mar-a-Lago before, once in 2020 and again in 2022, so they decided to see if a wedding there would be “in the realm of possibility.”

The couple, John Sullivan and Dan Medora, reached out to good friends and members of Mar-a-Lago Bill White and Bryan Eure, who then reached out to former President Donald Trump and his team. They happily approved the couple’s request. The next day, they got a call from the director of catering at Mar-a-Lago. “Can we talk about dates?” she said.

“It unfolded very quickly. And again, it was not on our radar initially, but we were obviously really, really, really excited and thankful to be able to do it there,” said Sullivan, who is the vice chair and treasurer of the Tennessee Log Cabin Republicans.

The Log Cabin Republicans upped the ante by using a wedding as a publicity stunt. The sadder fact is that Trump was all in favor of it and was a participant.

The Republican Party Platform opposes so-called gay marriage and calls the Obergefell ruling lawless. Nevertheless, its stated principles which intended to align with biblical morality were just desecrated by Donald Trump.

  1. Suspicions about Trump should abound. Some say the lawfare now used against him at present is rooted in the fear they will go to jail if he is elected. Based on his empty promises about Hilary’s incarceration that seems unlikely. Now a friend told he has promised deportation of the innumerable border crossers who one might presume will share Hilary’s status. Since he’s the presumptive nomination on the republican side one wonders why the establishment is so opposed to him if he poses no risk to them. But can the country survive another 4 years of dementia? Psa. 39:7 Jer. 17:5
