The Daily Wire’s decision to move on from Candace Owens despite her successful brand set off an entire debate on the right over the use of the phrase “Christ is King.” On Friday, Daily Wire host, Andrew Klavan attacked Candace Owens for using the phrase, but in a display of unsurprising dramatic irony, Andrew Klaven demonstrated his own hypocrisy as he too proclaims Christ as Kin without a credible profession of faith.
Credible Professions
It’s worth noting that there are many critiques of Candace Owens but her using the line “Christ is King” (because it was used by Christian Nationalists and sounds cool) is not one of them, regardless of whatever implications it may have regarding Jews or other pagan people groups. Candace Owens, in the past, has denied the bodily resurrections and is married to a Reddit-tier Catholic apologist.
Andrew Klavan, on the other hand, is a theological liberal who affirms his son’s sodomy. Because he promotes this wickedness, there is no reason to consider him a Christian.
Universalism
Andrew Klavan defends Ben Shapiro and Jordan Peterson in a recent episode by arguing that God isn’t sending Ben Shapiro or Jordan Peterson to hell (based on their current trajectory which includes rejecting Jesus) because they fight for good morals.
Life is not a game show where you guess the name of God and you get to go to heaven honk you know. Yes the name is Jesus. I look at Ben’s life and I think if Ben were to embrace Jesus Christ, it would cause devastation to his family to the people who love him to the people who listen to him to his position in the world. I just have this feeling that God has put this guy where he wants him, to do what he wants him to do, and as you know, I feel that you know the Jews were not abandoned by God. I I feel the same way about Jordan [Peterson]. Jordan struggles with this stuff and I I feel like I have a inkling why he has to struggle with, but his struggle is inspiring to other people, and I think God wants his boys where he’s got them, and I there’s no thought in my mind that he is going to send these guys into battle and then turn his back on them when they come marching home. It’s not a game show you know.
So, according to Klavan, Ben Shapiro and Jordan Peterson are fighting for God, and God would not condemn them based on their works despite their overt rejection of Christ. He continues:
Christ is love. Christ is truth. Christ is the logos of the moral order. You follow love, you follow truth, you follow the moral order, you will find yourself ultimately at Jesus Christ’s door. I don’t worry about Ben and Jordan Peterson one little bit. And so, when you spit ‘Christ the King’ at them to insist that they have been rejected by the one who sent them to do the work that they’re doing, nah no no no no no
The immediate context ends with an advertisement. However, Andrew Klavan declared a works-based salvation extended to those who fight for moral order which apparently does not include the first four commandments which nonChristians cannot follow.
To be clear, I don't believe you can be saved without Jesus Christ. But in Matt 7:21-23, many who call Christ Lord cannot enter the Kingdom, while in Matt 25: 31-40, many who do enter the Kingdom DON'T EVEN KNOW they served Christ. So redemption isn't a guess-the-name game show.…

Klavan attempts to nuance further by stating that you can serve Christ unknowingly, perhaps alluding to the line from The Last Battle, but neglects to remind the internet how he is talking about people who have overtly or tacitly rejected Christ.
Andrew Klavan represents Christless conservatism with an intellectual understanding of Christianity but no real commitment. At the end of the day, peer relationships with his son and colleagues are paramount to his relationship with God.

We can really see the crack forming between those that want to follow the world and those that will follow Christ. Sure, I struggle greatly with the temptations of the world, like really bad right now, but I’ll be damned if I follow after it to gain or keep hold of these temptations (yes I love puns). I wonder what these people really believe instead of what they think their audience or advertisers or whatever want to here, to keep their jobs, salaries, etc. I think this a defining moment, the line in the sand “you can still believe Christ is your king just don’t say that.” And isn’t it a test, a demon or evil spirit is unable to say Christ is their King? Fascinating wrinkle
