Matt Walsh attacks wokeness

Matt Walsh Attacks Wokeness On The Right

Matt Walsh is one of the most prominent voices in Conservative Inc. as he is among the Big 4 at the Daily Wire. Last Friday, Walsh took a stand that appears out of line with others at the Daily Wire but certainly consistent with his stated principles of free speech when he “canceled” Texas Governor Greg Abbott for his executive order combating “antisemitic rhetoric” on college campuses. This occurred after Candace Owens was fired from the Daily Wire.

Matt Walsh reads the statement by Governor Abbott and highlights Abbott’s call for the creation of “safe spaces” on college campuses. Walsh points out that Republicans have been railing against “safe spaces” in universities for the past ten years. Indeed, Ben Shapiro became the number one podcaster in Conservative Inc. by debating college students and challenging these safe spaces.

Matt Walsh further highlighted the fact Greg Abbott has made no protections for White people despite how institutionalized anti-White rhetoric is on college campuses.

If ever there was an issue that could risk Matt Walsh’s career at the Daily Wire, this would be it. But Matt Walsh correctly emphasized how the right is now promoting the same wokeness it opposed for years.

The point Walsh is making is actually more potent than he went into, as this same wokeness is also in the church. Many pastors refused to go woke for Black people but have happily gone woke for Jews. Christian media like Conservative Inc. heavily panders to this religion. The Christian Post is one prominent example. This has been the case ever since Zionists financed the proliferation of theology that suits their interests.

This is why there is a rift between Christian Nationalists and some of the institutions, like G3 and Sovereign Nations, that did not go woke for Black people. Christian Nationalism represents a return to a traditional Protestant theology predating the post-war consensus. The post-war consensus has Christians failing to recognize the inconsistency in supporting fighting antisemitism while opposing the “antiracist” Black Lives Matter Movement. This is despite how the Anti-Defamation League is more opposed to Christianity than Black Lives Matter while more capable of implementing a cancel culture against believers.

Matt Walsh is right to oppose hate speech restrictions, and he is consistent here. Many Christians, however, are not consistent in their opposition to wokeness as they have unwittingly been played by the same forces driving the wokeness they oppose to support a woke religion and nation to their detriment.
