Kristi Noem’s Theology Explains Why She Is So Cringeworthy

Governor Kristi Noem is on a publicity meltdown as of late due to her QVC videos promoting cosmetic work she’s had done and the excerpts from her book getting exposed presale. Most are familiar with her flexing her girl boss prowess by showcasing how she shot her failed hunting dog. But recently she was caught lying about meeting Kim Jong Un of North Korea.

In the video, Governor Kristi Noem gets called out for lying about meeting Kim Jong Un, the North Korean leader who is famously reclusive. But in the same paragraph, she touted her pastoral experience.

“I remember when I met with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. I’m sure he underestimated me,
having no clue about my experience staring down little tyrants (I’d been a children’s pastor, after all).”

This is reportedly from page 67 of her book. Now, just like how she lied about meeting Kim Jong Un and her ghost writer unwittingly went along with it, it’s possible she lied about being a children’s pastor. But given her past record we shouldn’t be so sure.

In 2021, Kristi Noem supported transvestites in women’s sports by vetoing a bill that prevented this from occurring at the collegiate level. She has two main arguments for doing so. The first is legality. She does not believe that the bill would hold up in court. This argument is rather paper thin. Though Idaho’s law did not survive the notoriously ideological 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, Daniel Horowitz points out that South Dakota is in the very conservative 8th Circuit Court of Appeals, a very favorable terrain for a ruling that defends reality. This would create a split decision for the Supreme Court to sort out. The unwillingness to engage in this fight denotes weakness, not strength. She would sign the bill she vetoed a year later after several states had already done so.

Some girl boss she is, but her previous support for transgenderism perfectly lines up with being a female pastor.
