Protestia’s David Morrill Recaps SBC24

David Morrill of Protestia joined the Evangelical Dark Web on Thursday’s livestream to recap his experience as a messenger to the 2024 Annual Southern Baptist Convention. At the convention he made a motion for a task force to investigate the affects of the MeToo agenda had in harming the reputation of churches in the SBC that was modeled after the motion that created the Sex Abuse Task Force in 2021. However, Morrill did not have a serial liar crying next to him whilst he made the motion and his copy and paste of their language was ruled out of order.

Many issues were discussed such as the effectiveness of Dusty Deevers’s nomination speech for Jared Moore, and Tom Ascol’s argument for abolishing the ERLC made on the floor.

David Morrill felt that the paper ballot for the Mike Law Amendment vote allowed the egalitarians to be open about their views in a way that a hand ballot wouldn’t.

We discussed the merits of staying in the SBC as well as investing heavily to save the institution.
