Almost a month ago, Kris “Kdub” Williams was excommunicated by the elders of his church for unrepentant adultery. Williams ran the YouTube channel, Kdubtru, which amassed nearly 90k subs. Until June 12, he was silent about it, and it wasn’t until June 15 that Kdubtru was public in his response.
Kdubtru published a video telling an abridged version of his side of the story. Williams confesses to an “emotional affair” and denies the claim put forth by the elders of his church that he was leaving his wife to pursue the adulterous relationship. Additionally, Williams denies his discord relationship was ever sexual. However, the divorce is underway for a multitude of reasons, Williams explains.
Williams claims that he’s since remained in his adopted son’s life, contrary to the announcement that he abandoned his wife and child. Additionally, he claims that he has not abandoned the faith,
Despite the scandal, Kdubtru only lost about 2000 subs, making a comeback on YouTube, perhaps possible if his channel is not dead in the algorithm. He published the video first to his paying YouTube members and then to a general audience. (This could be a default setting on his channel, but he could have changed it if he wanted.) Kdubtru leaves open the continuance of his online ministry, despite his divorce.
