Tucker Carlson’s interview with Cliffe Knechtle from August 25 amassed 1.2 million views on YouTube alone. Knechtle is a pastor and apologist specializing in engaging college students and professors. Despite the number of views, the interview was rather lacking, a reflection, perhaps, of the influence of college interactions on the thinking of Knechtle. This showed up when he tells a woke story that turns out to be a myth and also on the issue of homosexuality.
When asked about his views versus God’s views, Knechtle tells the story of how he witnessed Billy Graham struggling with his closeness to President Richard Nixon and whether that compromised him or Christ. Closeness to Nixon wouldn’t be a top 10 issue with Graham, but nevertheless, this led him to an example of “real Christianity,” which is a story he uses a lot.
A story Tucker that I use a lot is Truth and Reconciliation Commission after apartheid was being taken apart in South Africa. Officer Vanderwood was at one end of the court and a black South African woman was at the other end of court and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission looked into the face of the black South African and said, “Ma’am, this officer went to your township, arrested your husband, brought him outside the township, partied, and roasted him over a fire till he was burned to death. One year later, they did the same thing to your son—came to your home, arrested your son, took him out to a party outside the town and burned him to death. Now, what do you want us to do with this white police officer?”
And this black South African woman said, “I got three requests. First request is, I want this white police officer to take me to the place where he burned my husband and my son to death so that I can gather up their ashes and give them a proper burial. Second request is: I want this white police officer to come to my township once a month and allow me to mother him ’cause I got a lot of mothering left in me and he’s taken my family away from me. And the third thing is: I want you to allow me to walk across this courtroom now and give him a hug to try and convince him that my forgiveness of him is genuine and real.”
And the Truth and Reconciliation Commission said, “Yes, go ahead.” This black South African woman stands up and, as she’s walking across the courtroom to this man who was responsible for the murder of her husband and son, a person starts singing, “Amazing grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now I’m found. Was blind but now I see.” That’s the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Cliffe Knechtle never researched the origins of this story, but there were a number of glaring red flags. The Cultural Marxist takeover of South Africa having a hymnsing during a struggle session tribunal was already farfetched. But the details do not hold up under scrutiny.
There is no transcript evidence of this story taking place during the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Nor is “Officer Vanderwood” a character in them. This detail in the mythos, Knechtle appears to get the name of the officer in the fake story wrong. It’s Van der Broek, and it appears in “forgiveness websites” and sermon illustration catalogs, but not in any primary sources. The closest to a real story I could find was Johan van Zyl as the officer in relation to the Cradock Four, as the wife of one of the four gave an impactful testimony. So the story is fake and intended to make people feel good while also embedding subversive narratives surrounding South Africa in the gospel.
Tucker Carlson was none the wiser to the story’s falsehood, but more interested in pursuing a conversation about forgiveness in the Old Testament.

I had never heard of Cliff Knechtle until now, but he sounds like a treasonous cuck who goes around spewing anti-White LIES.
Apartheid was an ABSOLUTE MORAL GOOD, which maintained order in South Africa, and prevented the African barbarians from genociding the White minority.
The end of apartheid has been a total and utter disaster, as even many Black South Africans now admit.
The truth of the matter is that the Black Africans are too uncivilized, barbaric, savage, and primitive to run the country.
Ever since the end of apartheid, the White minority has been subjected to a horrific genocide, with the Black perpetrators frequently committing unspeakable acts of torture, such as raping White women and White babies with objects and burning them with irons, before murdering them.
Apartheid was an absolutely necessary system for the Whites in South Africa to survive, and now that apartheid is gone, it is only a matter of time until all the remaining Whites are genocided.
Anyone who opposes apartheid is an enemy of the White race, and anyone (such as Cliff Knechtle) who claims that “god” opposes White people defending their own survival, is a TRAITOR.
As for Knechtle’s ridiculous story, it is OBVIOUSLY FALSE. You should email Tucker Carlson to let him know that this story is a LIE.
The South African police didn’t go around burning people alive or roasting them on spits any more than the FBI or LAPD do. In other words, it never happened.
The South African police (and military) were professional forces who behaved with morality and honor.
In fact, the only people who roast others alive are the Africans who are genociding the White minority.
Cliff Knechtle’s story is a TOTAL INVERSION of the truth. Knechtle is a LIAR.
The Blacks were burning people alive, and still do so today, not only in South Africa, but here in the USA too. Just google the case of Jessica Lane Chambers, who was raped and burned alive in Mississippi in 2014 by a Black man who poured lighter fluid down her throat.
Returning to the subject of South Africa, the South African police were professionals who behaved with restraint and integrity throughout the apartheid era, while the OPPONENTS of apartheid committed many acts of terrorism against both White and Black people.
In fact, Nelson Mandela’s wife Winnie was well-known for ordering her underlings to carry out “necklacings” where the victim would have a burning tire put around their neck and be roasted alive.
It was the Blacks who were doing the burnings, NOT the Whites.
