Lindsay Clancy

On Lindsay Clancy, Insanity Plea, And The Radicalization of Women

Lindsay Clancy murdered her three children. The facts are not in dispute. She waited until her husband left the house. She killed the kids. Then she slit her wrist in a non-lethal manner and jumped from a window. The paralysis that followed was an unintended consequence of that jump. The suicide attempt was staged. The entire sequence was an attempt to create the record for an insanity defense. That defense is now before the court. It should be rejected outright.

Genesis 9:6 Is Clear

Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image.

The text does not carve out exceptions for mothers who claim mental distress after the fact. It does not require a psychiatric evaluation before the sentence is carried out. It requires blood for blood. The modern insanity plea exists to evade that requirement. It turns murder into a medical condition that excuses the murderer from the penalty Scripture assigns.

Clancy knew what she was doing. The timeline shows calculation. She chose the moment her husband was gone. She performed a self-harm that would not kill her. She hung from the window and dropped, shaving five feet off what should have been a pedestrian twelve-to-fourteen-foot leap from a second-story window. What was intended to produce a broken leg or ankle, even a concussion, ended instead in a broken nervous system. The plan failed when the fall left her paralyzed rather than merely wounded. That does not transform the murders into something less than murder. It transforms the defense into a calculated second act.

The Conspiracy Industrial Complex

The crowdfunding campaign has already raised $750,000 for her legal defense. Donors are funding the effort to keep her out of the prison. They are not funding justice. They are funding the loophole.

Women on social media have filled the gap with theories that would embarrass a horoscope column. They cite star alignments, planetary positions, and other astronomical claims to argue that Clancy could not have acted with intent. The theories are not evidence. They are fan fiction dressed in pseudoscience. The pattern is consistent. When a woman commits an atrocity against her own children, a cohort of online women refuses to accept the record. They invent external forces, hidden motives, or cosmic explanations that shift blame away from the mother.

This is the same energy that Candace Owens brings to the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Owens has pushed narratives that treat the killing as something other than what the evidence shows. The details differ. The posture is identical. A high-profile female commentator rejects the plain facts of a murder because the story does not fit the preferred frame. In both cases the audience is primed to accept the revision. Social media rewards the revision. The algorithm boosts the claim that the obvious explanation is too simple, too patriarchal, or too cruel.

The radicalization is not subtle. Platforms train women to view female perpetrators as victims of circumstance, biology, or invisible networks. The same platforms train them to view male perpetrators as unambiguous monsters. The double standard is not an accident of bad moderation. It is the product of years of content that frames women as perpetual patients and men as perpetual agents. When the patient commits the crime, the script must be rewritten.

The Plea Is the Point

The insanity defense does not ask whether Clancy killed the children. It asks whether she can be held responsible for the choice. The answer from Scripture is yes. The answer from the facts on the ground is yes. She planned the moment. She executed the acts. She then manufactured the appearance of a suicide that would support a later claim of incapacity. Paralysis was the accident, not the murders.

A system that accepts this defense is not merciful. It is lawless. It tells mothers that the penalty for killing their children can be avoided if the staging is competent enough. It tells the public that the biblical requirement of blood for blood is outdated, while quietly preserving the loophole for those with the right experts and the right crowdfunding totals.

Clancy’s case is not an outlier. It is a demonstration. The insanity plea exists to protect murderers from the sentence Genesis 9:6 assigns. The online theories exist to protect the plea from public scrutiny. The crowdfunding exists to pay the lawyers who will argue that calculation equals compulsion.

The court should reject the plea. The public should reject the theories. The sentence should follow the text.
