NBC Boston’s response was to dig through his past and paint him as unfit.
Their “Investigators” piece ran with allegations from years ago. A 2021 incident where his wife claimed assault. The charge got dismissed. A restraining order filed by a teenage nephew after a family fight. An eviction case over unpaid rent. Family members estranged from him called him difficult. The network floated the idea he lied on his juror questionnaire and should never have sat on the case.
The timing tells the story. They waited until the mistrial to unload. They interviewed other jurors who complained the holdout was arrogant and wouldn’t deliberate. Then they tied that to old domestic allegations to suggest the whole thing was tainted from the start.
This is the pattern. When a defendant kills her children and the defense leans on postpartum depression or mental illness, the media often frames the story as tragedy for the mother. The children become footnotes. The one juror who said the act itself demands accountability becomes the villain. NBC Boston didn’t report new facts about the crime. They went after the man who refused to excuse it.
The juror had a right to serve. He had a right to listen to the evidence and decide Lindsay Clancy was responsible for what she did. That’s what jurors do. They don’t have to agree with the majority. They don’t have to accept that mental health claims erase the difference between killing your kids and not killing them. The system allows for that disagreement. The real question the piece never asked is why eleven jurors were willing to acquit a woman who killed three children with her own hands. The holdout forced a mistrial instead of letting that verdict stand. For that, the network decided his character needed public examination.
This is what happens when media outlets decide certain defendants deserve protection. The narrative shifts from the crime to anyone who won’t play along. The holdout juror didn’t campaign for attention. He didn’t give interviews. He simply wouldn’t sign off on not guilty and give Lindsay Clancy a get out of jail free card on a triple homicide. NBC Boston responded by treating his past as more important than the three dead children.
The liberal press often claims it wants accountability for violence. It just prefers that accountability skip certain cases where the perpetrator can claim victim status.
NBC Boston can keep digging. The fact remains that three children are dead and their mother faced a jury that nearly let her go. The lone holdout stopped that outcome. Attacking him for old allegations doesn’t change what she did or what the evidence showed. It just shows which side the network was on.

Sad world we live in where a mother can kill her 3 kids, and she is held up to be the victim. Society has really gone downhill since I was a kid, and it did so in a hurry when you think about it. Criminals are coddled and sympathized with and law-abiding citizens are ostracized. Woe to those who call good evil and evil good!
