The extremities of liberalism led to many liberals “leaving the left” but assuming for themselves the a leadership role in rightist discourse. Dan Hollaway has made himself as a hall monitor, lecturing men about being too racists and how the manosphere and those who oppose homosexuality are grifters. He was an aspiring James Lindsay but with more masculine appeal. The problem is: his personal life affords no credibility in lecturing anyone.
On Drinkin’ Bros he is one of the guys with a drink. On Citizen he is the man who decides which arguments still count as serious: Cenk Uygur for the crossover with the left, Michael Malice for the anarchist credential, Batya Ungar-Sargon for the book-club seriousness, gun-makers and essayists when the week needs gravitas. That roster is the job. The respectable right always needs someone who can book a real guest, talk like a conservative, and still scold the faction that wants a border and a people. Hollaway took it. A hall monitor has to live in a house that can bear inspection. His cannot.
In September 2026, Patrick Casey put the contradiction in one frame: Hollaway blogs about Jesus and natural law, then lectures men he considers too hard on immigration, while his wife’s OnlyFans runs a fifty-percent-off sale. The line that stuck was simple. Modern conservatism will forgive a woman anything and still tell young men not to be “racist” online. Casey added that he was no Puritan, and that the issue was not taste. It was standing. Even the charitable version required the same evidence: the page comes down, the clips stop, the speech changes from empowerment to repentance. Nala Ray leaving OnlyFans and getting baptized is the form those Christians were describing. Sophie Rain selling skin while calling herself a Christian virgin is a mockery. Candice is closer to the second pattern than the first.
She did not become a reformed hoe. She rebranded. After studio work ended, she built Chatting with Candice: spirituality, psychedelics, divine feminine, “freedom maximalist,” critiques of mega-church finance. She talked about growing up around shame and original sin. She did not talk like a woman who now treats the catalog as a stumbling block to be buried. The Eva Lovia page stayed live. They were a public couple by late summer 2025. Engagement landed in March 2026. The ceremony was mid-June. Bear was born on June 28. A late-June birth means the pregnancy began in the fall of 2025, while they were dating and long before vows. Candice had already been married. Hollaway’s own late-2025 writing put natural law first and treated religion as a personification of that law, “not because of a deity necessarily.” The Jesus essays thickened in 2026, in the same season as the ring, the ceremony, and the birth announcement.
So the picture is not a long-faithful churchman who took in a penitent. It is a podcaster who found a moral vocabulary while already in the relationship, then used that vocabulary on other men.
“Household in order” is the old test for a reason.
Paul’s rule for overseers is blunt because teachers multiply their private chaos. If a man cannot order his house, he should not order other men’s speech. Hollaway is not an elder. He acts like one. He tells the right which immigration arguments are allowed, which posters are too crude, which young men have failed the charity test. He does it while the family brand includes a discount code for explicit video.
The double standard is the point of the Casey post, and it is the point of the last year’s virgin fight. A large part of institutional conservatism will baptize female sexual entrepreneurship as complexity and treat male online harshness as a civilizational emergency. The dissident right’s counter was crude, but it named a real rule: you do not get the pulpit and the brothel in the same week.
None of this requires pretending Candice is not a mother, or that Bear is not the child they present as theirs, or that people cannot change. Change has a look. It looks like a closed store. It looks like grief over the archive, not a sale. It looks like a man who stops policing other factions until his own roof stops leaking product.
Hollaway can write about Cicero and Tocqueville. He can argue that America is a people and not a motel. He can say young men should be better. He cannot do all of that and then hide behind “I’m not a Puritan” when the only thing under his own roof that still converts at scale is the old porn name. The right already had the language for this in 2025. She is not a born-again virgin. She is not even the former model in the Protestia sentence. She is the model who kept the page. A man who marries that arrangement can live it. He should stop lecturing the men who refuse to pretend it is order.
