The scandal of Robert Morris resulting in his arrest for lewd acts with a minor, using a cowboy law, has shaken up Gateway Church. Gateway Church was once America’s largest megachurch, boasting 100000 people across all locations. Now, they are a far cry from that. Replacing Robert Morris has been a tremendous undertaking for the megachurch which started the process with only three remaining elders.
In the interim, Gateway brought on Max Lucado, just to preach, but Lucado would not be an elder of that church. Now they announced a replacement, Daniel Floyd.
Daniel Floyd and his wife will come on as senior pastors of Gateway Chruch, leaving Lifepoint Church, a multicampus megachurch based in Virginia that they founded.
Lifepoint Church is an egalitarian Clown World church which has brought in a lot of famous teachers to speak, such as Bianca Olthoff. His church definitely went woke in 2020, as their struggle session is still on YouTube. Daniel Floyd comes across as a wannabee Craig Groeschel. He even has a discontinued leadership podcast. Evidently, a cursory search found multiple red flags that Gateway Church simply ignored.
