Nala Ray was formerly a top earner on OnlyFans, the infamous, democratized porn site. This time, she did a TikTok showing what it would be like for her to have a “dance-off” in Heaven with Mary Magdalene.
The dancing is very typical social media dance video, but it is attention-whore behavior nonetheless. Dance videos are not so much playful, fun, or authentic as they are performative for social media clout. Few self-respecting Christian men would want their wife doing dancing TikToks, yet little mention is made that men looking for wives do not find it appealing either. Pertaining to Nala’s video, the middle finger towards the end is reasonably perceived as both distasteful and disrespectful.
That said, the choice of Mary Magdalene was likely due to their comparative sinful pasts. It should be noted that she was the woman who was previously demon possessed. Though it is commonly perceived that she was the woman who anointed Christ in Luke 7, it is unstated (though unlikely) that she is the same woman introduced in Luke 8. While little is really known of Mary Magdalene outside of Scripture, but modesty was certainly a facet of her reborn life, as she was one who sought to perform the burial process at the sepulcher. For Catholics and Orthodox, she is regarded as a Saint. Besmirching the saint is both irreverent and a sign of spiritual immaturity.
Moments like this serve to reinforce doubts to the veracity of her profession. It further creates a doorway for other “OnlyFans to Christian-grifter” pipeline as they can successfully maintain social media status in switching audiences. In particular, Nala could become a bigger facet in the Christian and Conservative Inc conference circuit.
Really, Christian women should not be performing dance videos for social media clout, as such is immodest and attention-seeking behavior. At the end of the day, it is vanity and vapidity, and women like Allie Beth Stuckey will defend such antics.
