Mark Driscoll is perhaps the most capable pastor on social media today, giving rise to a resurgence in relevancy and prominence that was once lost in the downfall of Mars Hill. Mark Driscoll has become a point of soreness as he is willing to take the bold stands that people with better theology refuse to take and is being rewarded for it. Another such example of this is Mark Driscoll putting a Jesus Christ election sign on the church property and not complying with city demands to take it down
Mark Driscoll explains how a government employee sent an email complaining about the sign and threatening its removal right before close of business on a Friday afternoon. The city of Scottsdale, Arizona claims that the sign is not sufficiently political enough and has received complaints.
Scottsdale, Arizona does not have any ordinance that restricts political signs to those only in support of a political candidate or ballot initiative, meaning that Scottsdale has no legal basis to remove the sign.
Mark Driscoll announced that he would not take the sign down and that he would have more signs printed and give them away freely, modeling Christian civil disobedience.

So if they remove that sign, then they’re pretty much violated Amendments One and Fourteen.
