The Vice Presidential debate between Republican JD Vance and Democrat Tim Walz took place on Tuesday night and it was far more one-sided than the previous debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. JD Vance was smooth, calm, and collected, and Tim Walz was jittery, deer in the headlights, and full of gaffes.
Even CNN thinks that JD Vance won.

CNN analysts say Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz struggled in the vice-presidential debate due to over-preparation, failing to respond effectively to JD Vance's attacks.

CNN copes by pointing out that Tim Walz had too much preparation, a weird way of saying no way to improvise. JD Vance was not nearly as aggressive as they anticipated and this seems to have thrown Walz off.

One of the most impactful moments was JD Vance fact-checking the moderators that illegal Haitians are filling out asylum applications and are being granted a legal status from them. In what started out as a 3-1 debate, JD Vance secured the momentum in this moment and bought necessary breathing room from the CBS moderators.

The biggest gaffe of the night comes from Tim Walz stating that he’s friends with school shooters. Moreover, he was asked about lying about being in Hong Kong during Tiananmen Square which was also not a good look for him, and an introduction to most Americans that he even did such a thing.
The internet is comparing JD Vance to Jim Halpert on The Office with the fourth wall breaks. JD Vance glanced at the camera during awkward moments for Walz which played well.
In the end, JD Vance represented a humanized, pro-natal Republican brand that the party is in desperate need of embracing.
