Reviewing The Christ Is King Conference

The Right Response Ministries conference, Christ Is King: How To Defeat Trashworld, is perhaps the most impactful Christian conference in years. Admittedly, this is a rather low bar, as many conferences exist to bolster personalities, sell books, and promote certain theologies. This conference, I believe, will have a lasting impact because of the people and what bringing them together will lead to.

Christ Is King had about 1000 attendees. The BMI of the attendees was below the average American. The makeup was about 70% male, in my personal estimation. The attendees were either young enthusiasts, Texas natives, or perhaps affluent Christians from all over. Most were laymen. I did not meet that many pastors. Small business owner was the most common career that I observed. There was even a networking lunch for them to attend as an add-on to the conference.

Moreover, the sponsors of the conference were mostly focused on the rich. Personal financial planning and investing vehicles were commonplace. For instance, Kyrios Consulting helps Christians invest in rental properties. David Reece’s Reece Fund is a Christian private equity firm seeking new investors. These sponsors are vastly different than other Christian or anti-Christian conferences that are sponsored by seminaries, publishers, and gay consulting firms.

When you get a bunch of people who are business owners or young, coachable enthusiasts, you will create a network of aspiring elites, local Christian Princes. Many of them will succeed in their endeavors. This conference bolsters their confidence that they are neither alone nor crazy. Eric Conn’s rally to defeat the longhouse is greatly important, but men getting together is critical to that end. Christ Is King had many breaks, dividing each session.

There was a great focus on networking, whereas many other conferences are about the information of the conference. The focus on practical applications of spiritual truths which involves working together and not in our atomized silos.

Right Response Ministries brought together the movers and shakers of what may soon be called the New Christian Elite. This will have a profound impact on the future of Christianity.
