Clint Pressley emerged as the establishment choice in last year’s race for SBC president. On the issue of feminism, Pressley held the line, supporting the Mike Law Amendment. However, Pressley has opposed other reform efforts in the Southern Baptist Convention.
It has been announced that he will seek a second term and will be nominated at SBC25. Pressley serves as senior pastor of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte. His record on the issues is mixed, but his tenure as president has been far more competent and uneventful (on his part) than his predecessors, Bart Barber and Ed Litton.
There is little reason to doubt his prospects of winning a second term.
