James White vs Anons

In his first episode of the Dividing Line since his debate with Corey Mahler, Dr. James White decided to spend over five minutes attacking me, Defiant Baptist. He specifically would like me to be doxed so that my elders can be informed about my behavior on 𝕏. The relevant clip begins around the 7:00 mark, but it is clipped here for your convenience. And this is the tweet (a joke) from me that triggered the diatribe, which he does not even bother to read to his audience:

To give some context, White was celebrating his alleged victory over Corey Mahler by retweeting Doug Wilson’s debate recap. To be frank, the wording that James used was pretty gay. He was imagining Doug smiling while writing this article about how great a job Dr. White did. I took a screenshot of the tweet (since I am blocked) and said that James White should start using the “no homo” disclaimer. This is very common slang among men, a way to say “stop being so gay.”

Unfortunately, James White is wholly unfamiliar with this phrase and took great offense to it, despite not being tagged in the post. He referred to my comment as adding “sexual innuendo” without even saying what I wrote. Instead, he decided to associate what I said in this tweet to some old posts that were made by the Stone Choir Podcast host Treble Woe. These came to light a few weeks before, and they contained graphic sexual language and profanity. In short, James wants his audience to believe that I was posting the same kind of content about him with my “no homo” post.

The guilt by association didn’t stop there. At least one person replied to my joke with graphic homosexual language involving James White and Jeff Durbin. I did not boost this or even interact with that person. That’s just not my style. But I’m guilty of what they said nonetheless, especially because I might be running this account and replying to my main account (according to James), like Josh Buice was doing.

All of this is designed to make a case for James White to dox me, which he believes is biblical:

But my concern is “Oh you want to dox him!” Yeah, I do, because Paul did and John did. The apostles warned the next generation, “Keep an eye out for these wolves in sheep’s clothing.”

James White here is calling me a false teacher over a tweet (joke) that was made at his expense. He believes me to be a danger to my church, someone who will spread poison among the flock. Furthermore, he is doing this on YouTube so that he can activate his anons (e.g., Hitler Hated Christ) to do his dirty work, because he knows that calling for this on 𝕏 is a reportable offense.

This behavior from a Reformed Baptist elder is simply reprehensible, but it is sadly right in line with the hard shepherding that is practiced at Apologia Church. This has even included secret recordings of penitent sinners so that such recordings might be used as leverage for future conflicts. But there is no biblical basis for this kind of cultic oversight by elders. Elders are not given some sort of special status when it comes to judging disputes between two parties, even in a Matthew 18 process. And to be clear, if James did not get satisfaction from my elders, he would begin attacking them next.

Of course, we pray that any attempts to dox Defiant Baptist or anyone else will fail, but more than that hope that this incident serves as a wake-up call. James White is a bad actor. He will attempt to destroy anyone that he perceives to be an enemy, no matter how small the offense. Thank you to all of you who have supported me through this. It really means a lot, no homo.
