The sin of Michael Tait is being further exposed and typical homosexual behavior yeilds unsurprising accusations that Tait molested minors during his double life as a contemporary Christian artist, according to The Guardian, which interviewed over 25 witnesses.
Tait started inviting Gabriel over alone, when the house was empty. When Tait introduced him to cocaine, “it was a huge shock”, Gabriel says, partially because he had no experience with drugs, and because it was being served by the man whose music informed his moral universe. “But I was too excited to be there, and didn’t want to screw up this opportunity.”
The two used cocaine together a number of times over the next few weeks. One night, while they both were high on the drug, along with a couple of vodka and Red Bulls, Tait proposed they jump in the hot tub.
It was there that Tait unexpectedly “grabbed my crotch and tried to kiss me at the same time”, Gabriel claims. “It wasn’t subtle, and it was out of nowhere. I asked him, ‘What the hell is going on?’ He said he was just joking, but then he did it again. I jumped out of the pool and drove home, which I shouldn’t have done because I was more intoxicated than I’ve ever been, but that’s how scared I was.”
Gabriel didn’t tell anyone for 15 years, when he confided about it to the same friend who had introduced him to Tait, Shawn Davis.
Shocked, Davis told him he had his own bad experience.
Davis says he was 16 when he met 37-year-old Tait in 2003 at a Nashville party that was loaded with mainstream celebrities. But Davis’s attention remained only on his childhood idol, Michael Tait. A mutual friend introduced them, and Tait took down his number, calling Davis to hang out a few days later.
There are two accusers who are the primary focus of this article.
All of this came to a head one night in 2012, when Davis was in Tait’s kitchen, and Tait texted him from his bedroom, sending him a picture of what Tait described as $5,000 in cash. “He said something to the effect of ‘this could be yours if you let me suck you off and cum in your ass’,” Davis claims.
After that, Davis called his mother and asked her to quickly come pick him up; Davis snuck out quietly without alerting Tait. On the drive home, Davis says he told her everything he had allegedly experienced with Tait. He and Tait never spoke again.
A number of pseudonymous accusers tell similar stories of Tait making them uncomfortable with his advances.
It was nearly dawn when they got back to Tait’s house, which was empty but for the two of them. They drank more, and Adam recalls suddenly feeling profoundly sleepy. That’s when, Adam says, Tait told him, “‘It’s OK, just go to sleep,’ and then he laid my head on his lap.”
Adam’s next memory of that night is “waking up in his bed, my pants unzipped, and [Tait] was jerking me off. I passed out again, then woke up, wondering: ‘What the fuck is happening?’ I went to the bathroom and had a panic attack, asking myself, ‘Am I supposed to go there and beat him up? Or am I supposed to play it cool?’”
The multitude of stories involving Tait highlight the unlikelihood that the Christian music industry was not covering up his behavior. Tait has since confessed and repented of his sins, claiming that he did not dispute the substance of the allegations against him.

I think you should pull this article for a couple of reasons. 1) graphic depictions and coarse language, which is inappropriate for a Christian site 2) Tait repented. Of course that doesn’t negate what he did, however, since he repented I feel that spreading information on what he has done doesn’t serve any purpose. Feels like gossip to me.
“I think you should pull this article for a couple of reasons.”
No, they shouldn’t pull the article. All of the information in the article is factual.
“1) graphic depictions and coarse language, which is inappropriate for a Christian site”
The coarse language is necessary to inform readers of the extent of Tait’s depravity.
Without the actual quotes, apologists for Tait would be able to claim “there are two sides to every story” and “maybe the accusers are exaggerating or being misleading.”
With Tait’s actual quotes provided in the article, it is undeniable how perverted and wicked Tait’s mentality is. While pretending to be a pious and devout Christian in public, he was privately busy sexually assaulting kids and trying to bribe them to have sex with him, using the “graphic depictions and coarse language” that you are upset the article mentions.
In cases like this, it is very important that everyone is informed of the whole story, so nobody can excuse the perpetrator’s behavior or try to downplay his crimes or accuse the victims of exaggerating.
The readers of this site are (presumably) grown-ups. I am sure everyone will survive having to read a few “graphic depictions and coarse language.”
The victims have to endure the trauma of Tait’s abuse every day, for the rest of their lives.
Compared to that, readers having to endure a few “graphic depictions and coarse language” sounds pretty mild, right?
“2) Tait repented.”
So what?
Anyone can claim to be sorry for what they did. It’s quite possible (even likely) that he’s just sorry that he got caught and his career as a Christian influencer is ruined.
All of the Holy “Christian” Celebrities who get caught doing evil deeds claim to be sorry. Are they actually sorry for harming their victims? Are are they only sorry they got caught?
“Of course that doesn’t negate what he did, however, since he repented I feel that spreading information on what he has done doesn’t serve any purpose. Feels like gossip to me.”
You sound like an apologist for pedophiles and child molesters.
Because he claims to be sorry, his crimes should just be forgotten and nobody should be alerted to his heinous acts against minors?
Is that what you’re saying? Because that is exactly what it sounds like you are saying.
And in case you’re wondering, no, your pro forma obligatory mention of “of course that doesn’t negate what he did” does not mean that you aren’t effectively sweeping his actions under the carpet and moving on.
People like you are the reason why child sexual abuse and other horrific crimes are so pervasive within the Christian church.
Your “oh he repented, let’s forget about it and move on” mentality is truly immoral and disgusting.
The victims have to live with the effects of Tait’s crimes for the rest of their lives.
And you are urging that his crimes should simply be forgotten and brushed under the carpet. Disgraceful.
You have the mentality of an apologist and enabler of pedophilia, just like the Catholic Bishops who instead of reporting pedophile priests to the police, simply moved them to a new church and allowed them to continue raping children.
After all, the pedophile priests repented. So, using your mentality, “spreading information on what he has done doesn’t serve any purpose.”
That is the precise mentality that the Catholic Bishops had when they allowed pedophile priests to “repent” and move on without informing law enforcement or the public at large.
“since he repented I feel that spreading information on what he has done doesn’t serve any purpose.”
Actually it serves many useful purposes.
For example:
1) Ensuring that the public (including potential future targets of Tait’s predations) are aware that he is a sexual predator, so they won’t trust him and thus can avoid being victimized by him.
2) To do justice for the victims whom Tait has already harmed, so they know that they aren’t forgotten, and that Tait’s crimes will not be excused nor swept under the rug.
3) To ensure that Tait is justly punished for what he did, and that his reputation is ruined, which is exactly what he deserves for stealing the innocence of minors and ruining their lives.
4) To show the world that sex crimes will not be tolerated within the Christian church, especially since these days the Christian church often has the reputation for being Sex Crimes Central, mainly due to how people like you respond when these crimes occur.
“Feels like gossip to me.”
Gossip, huh?
To quote the legendary Inigo Montoya, that word doesn’t mean what you think it means.
Let me help you out, since you don’t seem to have access to a dictionary.
Gossip is defined by the Oxford English Dictionary as: “casual or unconstrained conversation or reports about other people, typically involving details that are not confirmed as being true.”
A news article reporting facts about crimes that have been committed (and which the alleged perpetrator has not even disputed) does not qualify as gossip.
Now that you have been educated on the definition of gossip, please prayerfully re-calibrate your moral compass so you no will longer have a mentality of being an apologist and enabler of child abuse.
I think we’re done here.
Actually, not quite. In light of the views (typical of a certain type of “Christian”) that you expressed in your above post, I request that you answer the following questions 🙂
1) Do you consider yourself to be a “Christian” zionist?
2) Do you believe that the jews are “the chosen people”?
3) Do you believe that God wants people to support the evil jews?
4) Do you believe that God will punish people who don’t support the evil jews or the earthly imposter “israel”?
5) Do you support the evil jews and earthly imposter “israel”?
6) Do you believe “anti-semitism” and “racism” and “holocaust denial” are sins?
7) Do you support interracial marriage, race-mixing, and miscegenation?
8) Do you believe that it’s fine for White women to marry Black/Brown men and submit to Black/Brown husbands?
9) you go around bragging about how pro-jewish you are, and how strongly you oppose “racism” and “anti-semitism”?
10) Do you believe in dispensationalism?
11) Are you any of the following individuals: Joel Berry, Robert Morris, Mike Bickle, James White, Doug Wilson, Owen Strachan, Will Spencer, Joe Carter?
There’s no way that his band(s) didn’t know he was a homo and a coke head. Liberty sure promoted him since he went there too. No one said anything that I heard. The money must have kept everyone in line.
