Lifeway Christian Resources, which serves as the publishing arm of the Southern Baptist Convention and is based in Nashville, Tennessee, has recently announced the appointment of Joe Walker as interim president and CEO. Walker, who has been with the organization since March in the role of executive vice president and chief operating officer, will assume his new leadership position during this transitional period until a permanent successor is chosen for the outgoing president and CEO, Ben Mandrell.

Ben Mandrell has been with Lifeway since 2019, serving as its tenth president and CEO. He has decided to step down from his leadership role to take on a new challenge as the senior pastor at Bellevue Baptist Church located in Cordova, Tennessee. Bellevue Baptist Church has significance in the Southern Baptist Convention as it has been the host church for woke national leaders in the SBC. Mandrell is scheduled to lead his inaugural Sunday service in this new capacity on August 10. This change marks a significant transition for both Mandrell and Lifeway, as they each embark on new journeys within their respective paths.
