Joel Webbon Launches NXR Studios

Joel Webbon founded and built Right Response Ministries to the tune of 128K subscribers on YouTube, becoming a frequent target of Right Wing Watch, Judeo-Christian outrage, and the woke mob.

On Tuesday, Joel Webbon provided a major announcement for the future of Right Response Ministries. Right Response Ministries has sold its assets. Following Tuesday’s livestream, Joel Webbon’s YouTube channel “Right Response Ministries” has rebranded to “NXR Studios.” The decision has been coming for a while now as Joel Webbon floated this development at the Right Response Conference, back in April.

Essentially, Right Response Ministries is being pulled in two different directions: a theology ministry and a political commentary ministry. Both are important, but Joel Webbon believed it wisest to delineate the two missions. NXR Studios launched as an LLC with financial backing. According to Webbon, they purchased the YouTube channel and podcast RSS feeds from Right Response Ministries, a 501c3 for a premium price. Joel Webbon states that he recused himself when the board of directors made the decision.

NXR Studios will be a newsgathering and commentary ministry with a loftier production than even Right Response and written articles. Right Response will continue on with a new YouTube channel and RSS feed.

Analysis

Joel Webbon is one of the most business-minded Christians I’ve ever met, which I can relate to, as I’ve started multiple businesses. He is entrepreneurial and senses an opportunity in the marketplace for Christian right wing commentary and has built a brand that his vaulted him in a position to be that guy. In a world where Evangelicalism has produced Greg Locke, Russell Moore, Robert Jeffress, and Jerry Falwell Jr, it would be a marked improvement for someone who believes that American politics should prioritize the interests of America, and not use Christianity as a cudgel to muster up support for a foreign nation. The time for nicer than God is over.

Evidently, he’s got some investors, an unsurprising development since he appears to be making friends in high places. I noted at the time that the sponsors of the Right Response Conference targeted wealthy Christians.

Making a media company a business allows him to raise capital more easily to grow and expand operations. I think it’s the right move to be above board in running a business as a business instead of running a business under the guise of a charity, like many others do.

  1. NXR Studios is already a branding nightmare before it’s even launched. One Google search brings up a pile of pornographic filth from a company called NRX Studio…

  2. To me this makes me think he wants to re-invent himself. As a pastor myself it would make me (not that I matter) a lot happier if he focused the same amount of energy that does at getting a rise out of people and turned his attention to pastoring his flock at his church.
