James Lindsay’s Latest Prediction Ignores Political Realities

James Lindsay has always been a subversive actor, whether on the left or the right. The liberal atheist is 2015-level woke but lectures people on the right about wokeness, which appears to be defined as those he opposes, be they on his left or his right. With the reemergence of the Bernie Bros under the banner of DSA, Democratic Socialists of America, many in Conservative Inc are peddling this as a new development.

Sure enough, Zohran Mamdani won the New York mayoral race, causing a bit of a red scare. But Mamdani’s victory is the fruit of the third worldification of Democratic politics in America. Whereas the Soviet style Marxists were intellectual in nature. They read Marx and liked his arguments. In the third world, Marxism would be inseparable from anti-White sentiment. Thus when Marxism took hold in nations, it was the mobilization of Africans against White people. And like all communism, it failed, as Zimbabwe and South Africa, both once prominent African nations, showcase.

And while Democrats fancied Venezuela and Cuba, the intellectual prowess of Marxism has given way to primal race politics, driven by hatred and envy. The Democrats have long been a socialist party, even going back to Roosevelt and his tyrannical administration. But certainly with the death of Ruth Bader Ginsberg, the Democrats have lost their intellectual depth. Thus the Democrats, who have long had a mix of Second World and Third World Marxism, have gradually grown more third world over time. Immigration was the root cause of this, as they imported the third world, and adopted their politics for votes. Mamdani is the champion of this.

This brings us to James Lindsay who dares to stun the internet with his intellect and predictions.

Woke 2.0 is coming. It’s starting already. Rather than foregrounding identity politics, it will push: 1) Affordability (Marxist materialism); 2) Anti-corruption (ironic but an excuse to go after Trump); 3) Anti-Israel (pro-Palestine). It will be warm to political violence.

The identity politics won’t go away, but it won’t be foregrounded any longer. It will definitely play supporting roles. They won’t lead with it, though. They’ll find much superficial alignment with the Woke Right and Woke-ish “Libertarians” on their three key issues and violence

The agreement will only be superficial and occasionally strategic to block actual patriots. Like with every issue upon which they align, Woke Left (2.0) and Woke Right will come at the issues from different angles, e.g. pro-Palestine vs anti-Israel. Applies to all issues.

Of course, these issues are totally contrived and on bogus ground. Affordability is mostly the result of Biden era inflation and Leftist market restrictions, but they’ll blame Trump and his war, etc. “Anti-corruption” is a way to crush pols on both sides that they hate.

The Democratic establishment is not ready for this, to the degree they don’t welcome it. They’ll get boxed out and crushed on affordability and especially anti-corruption narratives, and since the Iron Law of Woke Corruption is real, there’s plenty to expose. Power consolidation for the DSA (Woke 2.0) wing will be the main outcome.

James Lindsay’s predeiction ultimately falls apart because it fails to account for the issue of immigration which would tear apart any coalition between the right and left wings. While Israel’s fading popularity will eventually become a bipartisan majority issue, the Christian Nationalists that Lindsay derides as “woke right” want Mamdani and his foreign electorate deported. They want America for Americans.

The alignment in politics is much greater than Israel and the Jewish questions. It’s those who hold to the view that the American government should serve the Americans, and those who believe that the America’s government should serve foreigners within and without. The Zionists, like Lindsay, are in the ladder camp, alongside Mamdani and the DSA movement.
