Back in March, Dr. Steve Nichols was at the center of much controversy involving Saint Andrews Chapel, Ligonier Ministries, and Reformation Bible College for allegations he made against Stephen Adams.
Nichols accused Adams of sexually abusing his daughter based on claims ascertained by a therapist. The claims were reported to the police multiple times, as required by law, but no charges were ever brought forth or corroborated. Nichols was excommunicated by Saint Andrews Chapel in March for refusing to answer to the session’s disciplinary proceedings which had arisen after the family had left the congregation. It soon surfaced that Nichols was accused of stalking and harassing Adams over the allegations. The situation was a mess for all parties. It is very well possible that both the allegations did not happen yet Nichols sincerely believed that they did and acted accordingly. Allegations that arise during therapy should be treated with additional scrutiny due to the risk of psychological manipulation.
On July 20th, Steve Nichols announced his return to Lancaster Bible College in Pennsylvania:
I am so pleased to let you know that I have returned to Lancaster Bible College to serve as Senior Scholar and LBC Ambassador. Heidi and I taught here for many years, and we look forward to what is to come. I am grateful to [Tommy Kiedis] and Jael Chambers for this new opportunity to serve in the president’s office.
LBC has been faithful to its mission since 1933. It’s humbling to be at this great institution again.

Amidst the fallout of the Saint Andrews Chapel scandal, Nichols appears to have found a landing spot. Overall, his career has immensely suffered as he was formerly the president of RBC and hosted 5 Minutes in Church History. For Nichols, a return to his roots is a soft landing given the nature of the mudslinging that happened back in March.
