Karoline Leavitt Announces Fox News Gig

Over the summer, former White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt made comments deriding Gen Z for being raised with “silver spoons in their mouth, just getting everything handed to them” which was supposedly contrary to the “meritocracy” of the American dream. Comments like this have not been isolated within the GOP. Last week, Governor Sarah Huckabee-Sanders put out a campaign ad lambasting Brad the Gamer for being the face of welfare fraud as oppose to promiscuous, minority women. With a literal Koch brother’s heiress, The Wall St Journal invented the “stay at home boyfriend” myth to justify female employment gains over men. Before her, Speaker Mike Johnson has made similar comments, so these sentiments are not uncommon within Conservative politics. After all, it is just red meat for the boomercons.

A month after the initial comments, Leavitt stepped down from her role as White House Press Secretary for the Trump Administration, citing the birth of her second child as the excuse. Often, these departures cite a reason when it is really just a soft termination. Leaving with grace sets one up for a landing spot for their next gig, which for Leavitt is a contributor deal at Fox News.

Per Fox News:

Former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt is joining Fox News Channel as an on-air contributor, FOX News Media CEO Suzanne Scott announced on Monday.

Leavitt, 29, who will provide commentary across the Fox News lineup, starts on Nov. 1. She most recently served as the 36th White House press secretary during President Donald Trump’s second administration, from January 2025 until August 2026.

“Karoline’s firsthand experience in the White House and on the presidential campaign trail gives her a distinct understanding of today’s political landscape. We look forward to her providing our audience with authentic and sharp insight across all FOX News Media platforms,” Scott said in a statement.

While being a Fox News contributor is far less laborious than Trump’s press secretary, it is still an active job that contradicts the desire to be with her children as stated in her resignation. Ironically, it was her comments made on Fox News which garnered the controversy over the July 4th weekend. This lends credence to the notion that there was behind-the-scenes cause for her departure.

It is not as though Leavitt needs to work, since she is married to a billionaire husband who is decades her senior. For this, one could reasonably call her a gold digger. Just as she only got to where she is by being reasonably attractive and marrying a rich old man, she only landed a job at Fox News because everything in her life has been handed to her.

At Fox News, she will be able to feed red meat talking points to the boomers while they amass a lineup of Gen Z women, like Brett Cooper. She will be able to tell the boomers that the reason the youths are struggling is that “they’re not working hard enough” despite the administration’s position stating otherwise. One cannot doubt that Karoline Leavitt will fit right in, appeasing an audience of age with her husband as she asserts herself as one who accomplished everything in her life by merit.
