Almost nobody wanted the simpler read: she was not captured. She was home.
That is the whole scam. Conservative Inc. right-coded Clark because she is White, Midwestern, marketable, and not an open lesbian caricature. They elevated a rivalry with Angel Reese into Heritage America versus BLM cosplay. OutKick and the rest astroturfed interest in the most left-wing sports league in the country and sold Clark as a civilizational win. She never asked for the job. She never lived the job. She goes to Taylor Swift shows, mouths corporate racial liturgy when the magazine lights are on, and will not say that a man is not a woman when her own teammate draws the line.
Men in girls’ locker rooms are not a complicated policy dispute. They are a safeguarding failure with pronouns. Men in women’s basketball are not “inclusion.” They are a category error enforced by activists and cowards. Cunningham linked up with Riley Gaines and said so. Clay Travis applauded that much, which is fine. The error is the ongoing Clark fantasy. Expecting her to become the face of sex realism was always fan fiction.
