SBC on fire

Jeff Wright & Michael Clary Discuss How To Save The Southern Baptist Convention

The 2024 Annual Southern Baptist Convention was a disaster and paved the way for the SBC to embrace female pastors, as many of its leaders do. But the fight is not necessarily worth giving up yet. Jeff Wright and Michael Clary joined Team Evangelical Dark Web to strategize moving forward how to recover from the current setback. The two guests are Southern Baptist pastors. Clary was the nominee for first vice president on a slate with Jared Moore.

Jeff Wright has rallied his church to stay in the convention believing that it’s worth fighting for because the enemy wants to take it.

Michael Clary emphasized strategic giving, whereby messengers designate giving to the Cooperative Program and thus maximize their messenger potential. He noted that many churches do not send their maximum amount of messengers. These messengers would then go to Dallas with a mandate.

We all seem to believe that Clint Pressley will be less disastrous as president than Bart Barber was, however low of a bar this is. But there is little optimism where this is concerned.

Jeff encouraged Southern Baptists in our audience to use the Credentials Committee portal to report the churches of SBC elites with female pastors for not being in friendly cooperation.

Michael Clary and I debate my proposed solution to save the SBC which I will write about in a forthcoming article (but is prominently discussed in the livestream.)
