Donald Trump fist high

On Home Depot And Cancel Culture

The near assassination of Donald Trump had many liberals reveling in the possibility of Trump’s murder. One such member of Jack Black’s Tenacious D encouraged the next shooter not to miss, causing international controversy and the cancelation of that band member. In a more low-profile case, a veteran outed a Home Depot worker who also urged for a better shot to assassinate Donald Trump.

Later being exposed by LibsofTikTok as Darcy Waldron Pinckney, it was urged that Home Depot fire her.

Home Depot obliged the demands.

Classical Liberals have lamented the push to fire Pinckney whereas those on the right celebrated the move, leading to a debate about cancel culture.

In the past, cancel culture was weaponized against people who generally did not commit an actual sin. They said something politically incorrect and were labeled racist. Or they were right wing when it was not allowed. In the case of Nick Sandmann, they tried to cancel him for being White. But now the tables have been turned as the Home Depot worker was fired for reveling in homicide, an actual sin. Liberals want to treat this instance of cancelation as morally equivalent to the aforementioned examples. They believe that cancelation is inherently wrong. But it’s not.

Bad things should get canceled and good things should not. Our enemies should be relegated and our friends should be rewarded. This is the consequence of having a more democratic society where two sides cannot reasonably coexist because of disparate values. Politics is a zero sum game (always has been meme) and no amount of genuflecting about neutrality and principles is going to change that.

It’s zero-sum. We win or we lose, or perhaps we die. But I’m not fighting to lose. I’m not here to be a gracious loser. I’m here to win. And by no means will I preserve a neutral public square that was weaponized against Christians. Rather, the Bolshevik ideas of the liberals must become unspeakable in public and outside the Overton Window.

Home Depot should not be made to stand up for an employee who hates their customers and nation. And nor will I come to defend her from the natural consequences of sin.
