Bringing the receipts to bear against Big Eva has made a lot of people upset, as Megan Basham’s new book Shepherd’s For Sale: How Evangelical Leaders Traded the Truth for a Leftist Agenda has become too big to pretend as though it doesn’t exist. So, many deeds done only to be reported by discernment ministries are now getting a bestselling book covering the topic. One such deed is Phil Vischer’s support for abortion, and he’s not happy about being called out.
It is true that Phil Vischer is called out in the introduction to Basham’s book. But as the meme goes: shot, chaser.
As Basham described, Phil Vischer is directly arguing for nuance among conservative Christians. Perhaps his quibble is with Basham interchanging Evangelicals instead. But She literally quoted his own tweet, and now Phil Vischer looks foolish.
Moreover, Phil Vischer has been public about supporting abortion in popular circumstances.
Life comes at you fast.

I ain’t surprised Phil got called out in this book, and I got rid of the book that Phil had written called “Me, Myself and Bob.” Still not happy and upset with what Phil’s turned out to be and wish he hadn’t turned out to be this way, but hearing stuff like this is like what Proverbs 27:6-7 says, better bitter truth than sweet lies, and no doubt there’s a lot of sweet lies Basham calls out.
I still plan to read this book and distributing copies to other churches.
