Donald Trump Wins! White Evangelicals Play Key Role.

Pennsylvania has been called. Trump now has 270. He wins. Kamala Harris loses. After a snail’s pace count in all the swing states except Georgia and North Carolina. Based on the current New York Times projections, Evangelical Dark Web’s prediction of Trump getting 312 electoral college votes is accurate, as well as knowing Trump will win on election night. 

“This will be the Golden Age of America,” Trump said in his victory speech at 2:30 am in Pennsylvania.

Much has been made about the White Evangelical or “Lone Bulwark” voting bloc and the role it would play in the 2024 election, including many self-proclaimed abolitionists writing in Dusty Deevers for President.

Steve Deace, of Blaze TV posted:

Only 22% of electorate was white evangelical. The smallest turnout of evangelicals Trump has ever had (26% turnout in 2016 and 28% turnout in 2020), and matches the lowest evangelical turnout since Romney 2012. He did win 81% of them, but Trump paid no penalty whatsoever for watering down his pro-life messaging even if it hurt his evangelical turnout.

Steve Deace is diminishing the contribution to Trump’s victory.  Mark Driscoll echoed this sentiment. However, the polling data this is derived from tells a different story.

As a disclaimer, with Republicans pushed early voting harder making this increasingly difficult to measere. 22% of this NBC exit poll identify as White Evangelical, which is the smallest proportion since Mitt Romney’s rout in 2012. However, what this data shows is that without White Evangelicals, Trump loses badly. Trump ran up the score with Evangelicals so much that it compensated for his losses with the pagans, Catholics, and non-White Evangelicals.

The tumultuous and overdramatic campaign is finally over. With this significant contribution to Trump’s electoral victory, Evangelicals will have leverage in the upcoming Trump Administration.
