John-Paul Miller is a pastor of Solid Rock Church in Market Common, a small church that gained national attention following a sermon in which Miller nonchalantly disclosed his estranged wife’s suicide at the end. Yetr the suicide of Mica Miller has many people questioning whether John-Paul murdered his wife. Although there is no evidence to this end, the Feds recently searched his home.
Coincidentally, John-Paul Miller has been arrested. According to local news, WBTW:
Embattled Solid Rock church pastor John-Paul Miller spent the night in jail after he was arrested late Wednesday on an assault charge by Myrtle Beach police following a confrontation with a protester outside his Market Common church.
Miller was charged with “assault / assault and battery 3rd degree” and given a $776 bond Thursday morning after a roughly 20-minute hearing in a Myrtle Beach court. He has a hearing scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 10.
The basis of the charge is that he touched the hat of an agitator who confronted him outside the church building. The protestor filed a police report which resulted in the charge. The incident is captured on video; however, the video does not substantiate a battery charge. Miller is likely not going to be convicted.
Also interesting, WBTW reports that John-Paul Miller is undergoing a rebranding of his church to “Living Water at Market Commons.”
It remains unclear why the FBI was at Miller’s home for several hours on Friday. Investigators removed several items, including what appeared to be some computer equipment. A spokesperson told News13 on Friday that the agency does not comment on potential indictments.
Both Solid Rock church and Miller’s home in the nearby Azalea Lakes neighborhood are part of a $5.59 million real estate portfolio operated by Solid Rock Ministries.
While Solid Rock’s fate remains unknown, Miller appears to be embarking on a new venture. On Oct. 17, articles of incorporation were accepted in South Carolina for “Living Water Church at Market Common Inc.” Miller is listed as its registered agent with his home address.
Miller has applied for federal (501)(c)(3) nonprofit status for Living Water. If the IRS approves and at some point, Living Water is dissolved, all of its assets would be distributed to St. Delight Pentecostal Church, a tiny Little River-based church where [Church adviser Charles] Randall is the pastor.
This is a developing story.
