The Fall Of WhatIfAltHist

WhatIfAltHist is a channel run by Rudyard Lynch with over 700k subs (as of this writing) that looks to try to find the patterns in history and anthropology so as to predict the future and understand the dynamics that result in civilizations rising and falling. It was formerly an alternate history channel. Lynch became increasingly popular in right-wing circles due to a stated affinity for Christianity and an opposition to wokeness. Getting increasingly political for the 2024 election, Lynch as a pundit even appeared on Auron MacIntyre, Tim Pool, and others. Despite being on the right, there were plenty of warning signs. For starters, Rudyard Lynch is a Darwinist which is incompatible with his professed Christianity. But these were hardly warning signs for was would happen over Christmas.

On Christmas, WhatIfAltHist published several hours of since deleted autobiographical videos that make insane claims.

Lynch would claim that his mother tortured and raped him as a child over 40 times between the ages of 6-10. He would go on to claim that he was forced to rape his sister against his will, apologizing to her in the second video, going on to claim that she supports his mom through all of this trauma. Lynch claimed that he only remembered these events after spending a year and a half in “trauma therapy” and trying ayahuasca, an intense hallucinogenic. He would follow up his videos with a post that has also since been deleted which in part states:

I have to tell you folks something. I am a quite advanced mystic and am capable of communicating with the spirit world. If you wonder why I know so much and am so successful at the age of 23, this is part of the reason. I have a photographic memory and have used this to have hundreds of hours of communication with different spiritual forces whether God, the devil, Mother Nature, Hermes Trismegestus, the anima and many more. I have a pretty good map of the spirit world. The Lord God and the tree of life, which is the spirit of consciousness connected to you by blood through evolution are forcing me against my own consent to intervene in the game now. I really really did not want to do this but God forced my hand. I did this since I was concerned we’d all fucking die as a society if I don’t, and I’m young enough I’m invested.

On the 27th, he would backtrack on all that he had done over Christmas.

I was really really stupid here. I was trying to make something go as viral as possible for advertising reasons so I said something as ridiculously over the top as possible as a way to harvest views for my video series and the group.

I was playing some stupid word game about narrativization where I’m technically not saying anything exactly wrong in that you can appoint yourself to serve the tree of life, which means you can say it by definition. I made a whole multi hour segment at the end of the video which was as ridiculous as possible to freak people out on purpose. I talk to a beaver puppet, make jokes about masturbating and talk about the philosophy of magic in it. The point was to show to not take yourself seriously.

I purposely play with the definitions in the video where I say psychic is a person capable of dealing with the realm of forms so “psychic” is one form of intelligence among others that deals with empathic abilities. I basically controlled all the definitions to say this insane thing for clout to harvest for the videos. I did this since it’s a Leftist tactic where they control words to get an outcome. Basically, I was playing with the concept of what a social construct is.

Instead this just become a vessel of my own egomania masking under some thin veneer of a joke. I recently had a religious experience which was the best thing that ever happened in my life which kinda drove me crazy. I did recently have a beautiful experience with God which inspired me to go back into politics so I ramped up the insanity to 10. What I did here was an insult to God, but how didn’t I see it earlier. I developed some weird rationalization about how misusing God’s name would somehow allow me to psy-op the public into believing God through showing Leftism’s failures above

Looking back on this I see some part of my shadow that I don’t like. Let this be a lesson to you for what to not do. Can you please forgive me for being this stupid? I hope I’ve built up enough goodwill you can let me be retarded.

Lynch, in part, apologizes for his blasphemy but nevertheless alludes to what he said initially about his religious experiences being real. He then says the rest of the content was an attempt at clickbait humor for advertising purposes, which while successful at generating clicks wasn’t monetizable. Absent in his apology were the vile claims against his mother that he made.

It’s worth noting that the comment section of the video where he made the abuse victim claims took what he said seriously or called him a liar. None thought it a joke. Lynch followed up by saying, “Most public political pundits have gone crazy at least once in the last 2 years. I hope I gain you the most entertaining madness so far.”

Rudyard Lynch had interesting things to say about different cultures from an anthropological perspective but has become self-obsessed and attention-seeking, all while thinking he’s found God. Even in the end, the “shadow that I don’t like” is a reference to what he talked about on video and his aforementioned mysticism.

Christians should be warned against content creators like Rudyard Lynch.

  1. Folks, when he says he wanted to “I was trying to make something go as viral as possible for advertising reasons ”

That’s all you need to hear. There are people who have channels that need advertising to support themselves, this and of itself is not a positive or negative thing. However, intentionally releasing content which seems to throw what you said previously in its face, just for clicks would seem to me to color everything he sayys from here on.

This is the problem with a lot of these would be ‘prophets’ and ‘predictors’. They can’t admit when they are just calculating based on some equation, vs actually knowing the future, and when people get tired of the shock they say more shocking things. See Howard Stern. But the reality is there is a lot of rubbish on the interwebs, and we must test and discern everything we read and see, even if we think its from a pastor or fellow believer.

  2. Yup, this was the end for me. A thought provoking bloke, but I can’t follow anyone who communes with demons. A hard stay-away.
