Joyce Meyer Separates From Daystar Television

The Daystar family drama has imploded the prominent global televangelist network built by Marcus and Joni Lamb. Upon Marcus’s death in November 2021, there was discontent with the succession of the media empire and simmering discontent among the family. In 2023, Suzy Lamb was fired and in November 2024, Jonathan Lamb was fired from Daystar, but that would not be the end of the troubles at Daystar.

Going to the liberal blogger, Julie Roys, Suzi and Jonathan Lamb made accusations of sex abuse and coverup at Daystar regarding their daughter. Suzy and Jonathan Lamb do not have evidence to support their accusations, and Joni Lamb insisted that the actual incident happened at a preschool. Joni Lamb would further add that her son is being emasculated by his wife making him unworthy of ever taking over the family business.

This family beef has not been good for business or content as several ministries have ended their relationship with Daystar. But now, Daystar lost one of its largest and most often aired teachers: Joyce Meyer. Joyce Meyer, although a famous Prosperity preacher, is actually worse on Christology, making her an obvious false teacher.

Nevertheless, Joyce Meyer ran six days a week on the network. Dallas News broke the story and reported the suspension of the partnership:

“Daystar has been a long-standing broadcast partner, helping our ministry to share the life-changing message of Jesus around the world,” Dan Meyer wrote. “However, in recent weeks, we have become troubled by allegations surrounding the Daystar Television Network.

“Due to the nature of these allegations and my mom’s own story, we feel a profound responsibility to stand for truth and create space for its discovery,” Dan Meyer wrote. Joyce Meyer has written on her website about her experience surviving abuse.

“In addition, we must always be sensitive to the hearts of those walking on this journey with us,” Dan Meyer wrote. “As many of you are aware, we have received a significant and growing amount of concern from our partners and viewers regarding the Daystar situation.

“The decision to suspend programming was not an easy one to make, but myself, my brother, our mom and dad, along with other ministry leadership believe it is necessary at this time,” Dan Meyer wrote. “When and if this situation is satisfactorily resolved, we will potentially consider resuming programming on Daystar.”

The Meyers insist on waiting for due process, something that seems unlikely to occur as there are no criminal charges or lawsuits currently.

Daystar responded to the news:

We love and appreciate Joyce Meyer and appreciate her desire to see closure in this situation. Her time slots will be filled by programmers from our waiting list, ensuring our mission remains uninterrupted.

We have it on good report that law enforcement is concluding their evaluation of the facts with no charges, and we are confident these false allegations will soon be put to rest.

Daystar remains steadfast in our commitment to preaching the Gospel. We refuse to operate in fear, trusting God fully and standing on the assurance that truth is prevailing.

Daystar seems confident in their eventual vindication, but the damage has been done.
